Travelling via Air in Canada?

I was wondering about any legal limitations of travelling within Canada with airsoft parts/guns.

I live in Halifax but I do occassionally go to Toronto to visit family. Since the local store in Halifax does have a somewhat limited selection and I do sometimes want to see guns and parts in real life before buying, I do look at stuff in Toronto. I have never bought in Toronto mostly because I don't know if Airport security would have a sh!tfit if i had airsoft stuff in my check in luggage.

Anyone have any comments of knowledge about this sort of situation? I know well enough to not even think about putting any parts in my carry on (most of my carry-on is camera and laptop equipment anyways). But what about check in luggage?

Checked baggage , no problem

if you can travel with real firearms, Airsoft guns are not an issue

just make sure it's in a lockable case... you could also ship it to yourself... or try it in store and have them ship it.

Checked bag. Not carry on. If you have questions call your airline or if your close to an airport talk to the agents at the counter. It's faster and more personable.

You won't have any issue.

Be prepared to have your airsoft guns swabbed for suspicious residue by those CATSA stuffed shirts. I'm not kidding.

Everytime I come in to YYZ I get a swabbing, regardless of what I'm carrying

Just walked into the airport carrying the rifle with a mag in on a sling Should be fine ..

(kidding in case some of you retards read that seriously)

I've flown Winnipeg-Toronto and back with my guns. never much of an issue.
Although if you can get it in luggage/case which does not directly look like a gun case, I find thing's move smoother. and simply tell the counter clerk whats in the case.
