Feeding issues

Hi there. Having some issues with my AUG feeding correctly as of late. It was firing once about every 5 shots. Without thinking, lubed the mags, and it improved a bit, to the point where the first half of the mag fires flawlessly (midcaps, btw).

However, as I get down to the latter half of my ammo, it starts misfeeding. I have two suspicions that are probably coming together to produce the issue.

1. The springs on the mags are simply getting weak.
2. The mag isn't seated in the gun properly anymore. I say this because if I forcefully push the magazine up from the bottom into the gun (moves about 1/8th of an inch), it feeds much more reliably (not perfectly, mind you).

I've heard the issue could be the tappet plate wearing down. I honestly have zero experience with gearboxes thus far, so I can't speak to that... But I'm willing to learn if someone feels like imparting some knowledge.

Anyway, anyone with any experience with feeding issues like this, give me a shout!

Thank you so much!

Dose it feed the rest of the mag if u hold it up into the magwell? That would tell you if the seating was off and causing misfeed.

I bought some old micaps and one started having similar problems, turned out the spring was broken all together. Sounds like u may have the same problem.

Take some time and open it up for an inspection, its not all that hard. You'll need some percision screwdriver and probly allen keys.

Sounds like it's the mags. Do you have anyone else's AUG mag you could try? Or a hicap?

Like I said, it will feed better, but not perfectly, if I force the mag up a bit. It'll still miss every 2nd or 3rd shot.

I've opened most of them to clean at one point or another. Never encountered a broken spring.

But yeah, I guess I'll go buy some more mags (could always use more ammo, right?) and give some fresh ones a try, before taking this bastard apart.
