ics hi-cap mag question

i just got my ics mp5 today and after reading the manual/pamphlet, i decided to try it out in my basement. since i didn't want to load a full mag, i just put about 10 to 15 bbs in it and wind the mag. put it in the mp5 and as soon as i put it in it all unwound and wouldn't wind back up. the knob on the mag just kept turning. is this common? i also observed that if i only put 5 bbs in the mag i can turn that knob all i want and no bbs show up at the feed port.

i did a search and found nothing that was relevant or directly dealt with this "problem"(if in fact it even is a problem). so if anyone can give me some advice or point me in the general direction it will be very much appreciated.

for highcaps you need to load like 40-50 bb's to fire some
the spring winds up and it loads the little port thing with 20 or 30 shots id guess, after its all said and done those ones dont get shot because theres nothing to pusht them through, so the winder unwinds

Long post short-solution- load more bb's and it will work =D

Fill that mag with way more BB's, there are about 30 or so that sit in the tube after you are empty.

edit Porry beat me to it.

thanks guys for the answer to my question. so i'll just have to deal with having some bbs left in the mag, and have a audible way of knowing when to relaod.

thanks again.

do mid-caps work the same way as hi-caps(you know wind it up) or do they work like low-caps(hollow tube with a spring)?

well, when those last 30 or so are left in the feed bay you wont hear them... its as the bb's get fed from the spot you pore them that makes the sound.

Midcaps work like locaps, but require you to deburr them (make sure the tube is nice n smooth) and lube it up wth silicone oil, them may have feeding issues for awhile but some TLC and using them fixes that. for midcaps i find that .20's feed better than .25's

When using high capse you'll hear the mag "unwind" when you're out of usable ammo.
