New into Airsoft. First gun recommendations,

Hey there everyone! Happy new year! I'm just getting into airsoft for the first time. These guns that I'm planning to get, I'm kinda in a tight budget (MAX $250-$300) so I can't really get all the good stuff. These are the guns I'm planning to get: KJW G23 (Metal Slide), ICS or Dboys (M4/M16/416), and I'm trying to find it but I don't know if you can get it anymore, it's a G&G CM16 RAIDER M4 GBBR or the "L" version (Don't really care if it's tan or black.) Those are the guns I'm planning to get. Btw, I ain't buying no Bass Pro Shops, Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire guns because there crap and I had a bad experience with them. Lastly, if you have any recommendations on guns or anything that I should get in this budget or about the guns, just reply back and I'll take your recommendation into consideration.

get age verified read reviews check out our local vendors, and save a lil more money, 300 is borderline to get a half decent gun, like a JG or Echo1 (whatever modle u like) i see ur leaning towards the ar family so an m4s system or a 416 or somethin along those lines will be a good starting point as they will alrdy have a rail system and such so u wont feel the need to dump extra money off the bat.
im not too familiar with the dboys/boy1 stuffs but as far as i understand some of them have nice exteriors but the internals are sub par.
read the faq's on here there are alrdy hundreds of the "ima noob wht gun should i buy" type threads and there is a good thread on choosing a first gun in the faq section (im sure its a sticky).
get yer fire retardant suit out its gonna get flamey in here real fast.

APS? More like A Piece of Shit. Nothing but problems unless you get a good one (and those are rare), nothing is to spec, and it doesn't shoot that great at all IMO.

I'd rather get Both Elephant, Double Eagle, or even that clearsoft DPMS Panther stuff (at least that one is TM compatible and parts are more or less to spec) over APS.

For a first time player, a substantial portion of that budget should probably be set aside for gear and safety equipment. Get ballistic goggles that seal to your face but don't fog easily ($40 - $80), high boots that can keep you from rolling your ankles ($60 - $120), a camouflage uniform ($40+), a camelback or some canteens ($30+), and other miscellaneous things particular to your play style. If you have all of these already, ignore this. If you don't, take my word for it that these things will make a bigger difference to your effectiveness than any airsoft gun you can get for that price range. As already mentioned, there are airsoft gun reviews all over this site.

300$ is entry level for 1 rifle. There's 1 or 2 below that price that are not bad. A couple more into the 400$ range. I would not spend anything less than 200 before taxes on a rifle.

The WE Tech M4A1 AEG is a great rifle. It retails at $250 from a very reputable Toronto area retailer (use some Google magic and you'll figure out which one I mean). It's got great external quality as the only polymer parts on the rifle are the hand guard, pistol grip and the stock (not including the buffer tube). It's a very easy gun to upgrade down the road if you want, and the out of the box quality is very good (has a great stock hop-up).

If you're an AK kinda guy, CYMA makes a lot of great AKs that come very solid as a stock gun and require very few upgrades down the road to make them top notch. These are also sold at that same Toronto retailer as well as a newer "revolutionary" retailer (hint hint, Google magic my friend). They retail for similar prices from both places.

I own both of these rifles (WE M4 AEG and CYMA AK47S) and the quality of these guns out of the box is very good for the $200-300 price your will pay for them. Upgraded, they are fucking beasts that will take anything.

My recommendation would be the King Arms full metal M4 AEG. Most are priced around the $279 range but can be had for $229. Its not the best gun on the market by any means but it is a good entry level gun that can hang with some of the higher end stuff. Also fully customizable, an all around good first buy.

My recommendation is to start with a gun you visually love, or you won't appreciate using it. Now, the budget is not big, but JG and Cyma for AKs make some great stuff that will fit the budget. For link and discounted prices, I can only suggest getting age verified. Its not the most pleasant thing to do but once it's done you'll be happy you did it.

G and G combat machines 200 bucks any model, nice g ang g gearbox inside. KA is good too.

All AEG are literally the same (at least in design and functionality) the only difference in AEG are construction of material, QC, accesories, obviously the more expensive variants have better construction, QC and other bells and whistles but don't be fooled even the most expensive AEG do have a small percentage of lemons it is afterall a toy and any expectations of performance of the real steel counterparts are ridiculous and unrealistic.

That being said ultimately it is up to you and the size of your budget. Airsoft is a sport where the comparison of a bottomless pit cannot be more true, especially for new players now with all the new toys coming out.

When I got into the sport last year in September, I read all the reviews and recommendations. Ultimately, I bought the King Arms M4 Full Metal. And I love it, it's a great AR. Lot's and lot's of compatability with the AR line of firearms. Since I do play rough, I've had only one problem with the gun over all. My fire selector frakked up. Instead of Semi-Auto, it now shoots full auto. Go figure. I hear it's an easy fix, which should be done this week. Hope this helps.

Do you plan on getting the gun just to plink? If you want to play an actually game you'll need a lot more money.

CQB: Get yourself a good set of goggles and face protection.
Field: Same as above but you'll also need good set of boots and a vest or belt.

CQB games are usually short so you can run with a spare mag or two in your pockets. Field games usually last much longer and you'll need to be able to hold multiple mags. Good boots will save your a broken ankle. Good set of goggles is the most important equipment. You want to make sure you don't go blind and you want to be able to see what you're shooting once things get hot and heavy. You'll fog up badly if you go with cheap goggles. Face protection is pretty important for CQB, don't want rounds busting your lip and teeth.

As for the right gun for you, same question as above applies. CQB you'll want shorter and more manageable guns, outdoor you can pretty much do whatever you want. I ran a Scar Heavy for CQB and bitch is cumbersome and heavy. Don't get me wrong though, I tagged a many OpFors with it and felt like I was over powering people when in the open. My P90 however has a much longer trigger pull but the length of the gun makes shooting out of cover and window a breeze. Almost like I was cheating!

The gun that comes most highly recommended as AEGs go would be the Kings Arm M4. The M4 platform has collapsible stock so you can make it nice and compact for CQB or longer for outdoor. Very versatile platform with lots of accessories and upgrades. Magazines are common and cheap as well, most vests with integrate pouches will hold those mags too. The 416 is just an update version of the M4 but HK so has similiar properties. M16 is a very large rifle and not as versatile as the shorter M4/416.

If you gonna get an AEG rifle, pistols are pretty darn useless. So do yourself a favor if you're on a low budget, use that money to buy essential kit ie; eye protection, face protection, vest, foot wear and extra mags.

I'd also like to point out, that you don't need to buy everything right away. I bought my kit, primary, secondary within a year's time. Slowly. Since I've been playing CQB exclusively since I started the sport, I'll be modding my M4 this week, RIS, shorter barrel and all that good stuff.

Your better off being patient, and buying what you can, when you can.
