KA Oberland M8 - Firing Auto on Semi
Please help.
Just bought the King Arms Oberland M8 last week and tried test firing this weekend. When firing on Semi it fires off a few rounds on auto. Can you please assist on troubleshooting? Also, cna anyone direct me to some links to either reading material or videos on my specific AEG? Any help would be appreciated! Thx! |

What exactly is "a few"? 2?
Is the gun 100% stock? What battery are you using? Have you opened it up before? |

Stealth,
Thanks for the quick reply and to answer your questions: Yes its 100% stock 9.6V 1500mAh nunchuck I got it last Wed and opened it up this weekend to test. Worked well for about 2hrs. Adjusted the hop up and scope etc. About 2hrs after, I switched to Semi and starting firing anywhere from 2-3 rounds on auto. No more than that. |

It sounds like an issue with your cutoff lever, which may be worn. It will have to be opened up.
If it was from a store with warranty, I'd talk to the store. |

Great thx for the reply!
I will be heading to the store today. It should be under warranty... Btw, Tried my rifle yesterday night and now it just doesn't fire. It fired a few shots at first and then it just stopped. Motor sounded like it was trying to fire and then gave up. Battery was fully charged. Sigh.... I guess I should have read the "elitist" thread and gone with the more seniors recommendations and bought a higher end AEG. Seems like I got a lemon. I will paint it yellow Any other recommendations are always appreciated! |

I find it odd that the cutoff lever would be worn out if using such a mild setup and the gun is relatively new, but with the low QC these days on AEGs, one can never be too sure.
The other thing I might've proposed is that you were running a high voltage lipo battery with a high torque motor. Another thing to check is how off-spec your selector plate is and whether it can actuate the cutoff lever correctly. |

I'm not too familiar with the V2 Gearboix, having worked almost completely on my V1N, but could it be possible that the external selector is having meshing troubles with the actuator or selector plate? That may explain the misfiring, but not the motor misfunction. For that, maybe misaligned motor height would be my guess. Did you touch the motor adjustment screw or the motor group at all?

All. Been a long time since I provided a response.
The issue was the cutoff lever. Based on the comments from the store, this is a well known issue with King Arms and this issue. Would have been nice to have full disclosure...Buyer beware I guess. At any rate, new and different cutoff lever and no issues since... This is the final post. Thanks to all who provided their feedback, much appreciated! |
