RS Dragunov Firing Issue

I am teching a buddies RS Dragunov, 1st version.

Basically, he locked the gearbox up with a weak battery, common problem he said with the first versions?

I redid the mechbox, no issues, cleaned it and lubed, reassembled, tested it, worked fine before I reassembled... However, I noticed that the response from the trigger is very tentative, but if I manually hold up the semi cut off lever, it fired much quicker.. I put the gearbox back in, tested with a fully charged LFPO 9.9V, got a couple shots off before it stopped again.

So this is my first RS Dragunov tech, just looking for other opinions, is this a worn semi lever, common electrical problem, trigger mech issue?

I have been searching on Google, searched on here, nothing stands out to help with the issue.

Found this before posting here, http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=125567
Sounds similar, I havnt been able to test with bb's yet since I cant get the mechbox to fire reliable...

Any wisdom is appreciated, I am hesitant to dive into this more before getting some insight on what to focus on

Cheers!

Derek

I've worked on one before so I do have some experience with it. Is the gearbox getting locked up like how some M4 get the trigger lock if you don't pull the trigger all the way to the back? If that's the case, it's a common issue with this gun. You'll need to get this trigger lock release part. It basically allows the cutoff lever to disengage so you have full auto to get out of the trigger lock.

The owner of the gun said those exact words, "common issue" and yes, I had a feeling its part of the trigger release, because as I said, when I hold it manually, works fine, reassemble, stops firing.

So where do I acquire this part?
