KWA Guns
Hi guys, I did a search and was not able to find any really good threads on KWA... From what I did find and most that commented on this thread agree that KWA would be a mid ranking company but this review was back a few years. They ranked Hi-Grade guns, Mid-Grade Guns and low-Grade Guns. KWA was listed as mid to high in the thread I read...
Anyway, I am looking at getting my first decent gun that I can use in the field possibly this year. I have been going through stores I have tons of Canadian stores book marked, and have found one that sells KWA. I have looked on youtube and the guns I am looking at getting get great reviews. The 2 I am looking at are: KWA MP7A1 and or KWA M4 SR5 I looked on this site for any remark on these and could not find one. I don't know if that is good or bad, lol.. What are peoples thoughts on KWA? And if anyone owns or has seen these guns are they decent? The MP7 goes for around 320 new and the m4 goes for 460 new from what I seen. Thanks |

It'll be hard to get a good single answer because those two models are not the same thing at all. One is a gas blowback (GBB) SMG, the other a automatic electrig gun (AEG). That alone can influence a lot which weapon you'll end with.
I know that for the gas system weapons, KWA delivers really good products. The KAW Mp7 is a model where I think I never read a bad thing about it, and I read all the good things about it. The only complain I've seen is the FPS, which is too hot for CQB (easilly brought back down). I personally own a KWA pistol with the same system as the MP7 (NS2), and I'm really satisfied with my product. Now, I don't know much about the M4, but if it's like any KWA AEGs, there are some proprietary parts, meaning it is not completely compatible with most AEGs and internal parts on the market. If something breaks, you either have to order it directly from KWA, or if they don't have it, you're out of luck. I'll let other people give you a more complete answer, but that can help you decide a little. |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

Also should be noted that KWA is the american version/rebrand of KSC ( i think i got that right) and the NS2 is the equivalent of System7 in KSC guns so the reviews should be cross comoatible

Half right. KWA does distribute KSC's product in north america, but they also sell their own products. The NS2 system is the same thing as KSC's System7, so you are right, everything made for KSC System 7 pistol will be cross compatible.

Ok, Perfect. I will do more research before getting my M4.
I do see some nice G&P M4's, they cost more money. I will get the MP7 though as it is my favorite gun and this is the only version I have seen. I remember playing Rainbow 6 for the xbox and that was the only gun I would ever use. |

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

From what I've seen of KWA so far, they make decent guns but you need to switch to a metal cyl head and a regular air nozzle.
The stock head works great but is extremely weak. |

There are probably some KWA MP7's still available at retailers from leftover stock but that will dry up soon I guess. TM has also just released a MP7 GBBR so that might be an alternative if you are looking for a MP7. Good luck! I own a KWA MP7 and it is a great GBBR. The next official MP7 will be by VFC at 1:1 sizing. That's the good point... The bad point, VFC internals...

I would not chose to buy a kwa aeg. Simply because they have a few non standard component quirks that can come back to bite you. I would pick a g&p or vfc over kwa if you're looking at aegs.
the mp7 is quite nice though.

I feel like there's a lot of confusion about all this KWA/Umarex/H&K/Mp7 sthingamabob...
I read about this a few months back, like many of you, and deduced too that VFC was the new kid on the "Mp7-"block. But since then, I've read quite a few statements from KWA staff that would contradict this line of thoughts... I just took another look at what was discussed in KWA's forum, and it seems KWA don't want to clearly back any of this directly, but they keep saying the Mp7 is not discontinued but is solely distributed by Umarex. Mags for the current/old Mp7 would still be mae available by Umarex, which also means they would still be made by KWA (I don't think VFC would agree making mags for Kwa's Mp7 right?) That said, a comment or two (always by Mods and Staff members on Kwa's forum) lead me to think that VFC would *also* make their own umarex licensed Mp7... But I think that *the* Umarex Mp7 will still be made by KWA... A guy even posted an unboxing vid of the "last gen" mp7, that is supposedly the one distributed by Umarex yaddiyadda, and it has "made by kwa" in the manual. His title said something like "Last Gen KWA mp7" or something, and a staff member immediately replied with "this is not a KWA gun it is a Umarex mp7, blah blah blah"..., despite the fact it is written in big letter "made by KWA"... Anyways, long story story short, it looks like this thing is just about politics and that maybe/probably VFC will also have their own piece of the Umarex/MP7 cake. The question is (if this is right): When you'll buy a "Umarex" Mp7, will you be able to know if it's made by KWA, or VFC? If I'm right about this and Umarex sells both the same way, it'll result in an aftermarket crazy clusterfuck O_o |

The KWA and VFC MP7 won't have the same size, it will be easy to tell them apart.

licensing deals expire all the time, VFC probably offered umarex a bigger share of profits so they decided to sell the license to VFC instead of renewing with kwa.
KWA forums are often filtered heavily to skew posts towards favoring their brands and news. I'm not surprised there's confusion over what's going on. A service commitment to all existing products released by kwa is probably being honored by umarex, which will explain why parts and mags will still be available.
