G&G m14 socom max opinions
I am not a DMR kinda dude. I currently run a VFC SR16 Combat Master as my main. It goes 360 with .2 and 330 with .3s. I am happy with this setup. One of the retailers is having a blow out sale on the G&G m14 socom MAX for 270ish. I picked one up being that a friend had a modified cyma m14. Overall, with his gun mods, it ran him about 350 bucks. New air nozzle, M140 spring and tight bore. Not much. He was getting out there. Approx 200 ft large center mass contact on opponents. I was sold on a DMR then.
Since the price was so cheap for the G&G m14 socom MAX, i decided to pick it up. This gun will be slung on my back and used when i feel the need to snipe at the range which permits. I am a run n gunner so i am not going to drive the M14 hard. Alot of people say go TM, but for 270, i feel this is a good secondary for the occasional long range shots given the price. Give the other DMR guys something to think about. Can anybody give me there experience from there G&G max series in regards to gearbox, internals, externals, life expectancy, spring life etc. Other then the magazine proprietary thing, i am not to worried about adding extras to it. the one hicap it came with will be enough. Again this aint my primary so I am not too concerned with upgrading it to make it some overpriced piece of plastic. These things are just toys in the end with little moving parts. I am not going to ride the trigger full auto, just pick off some opponents, sling it and run the rest down. I just want some opinions or stories about people who have owned these MAX series. I would not pay full price for it if it wasnt on sale otherwise. Let me know, thanks. My feelings won't be hurt if you have bad reviews. For the price i paid,it's worth to try it out. Thanks Last edited by R700; March 20th, 2013 at 04:22.. |

I don't own the G&G version, but I own the CA version which follows the same design. The stated barrel length is 500mm, but 550mm is a better fit, if you plan on getting a better barrel. The G&G I handled had a terrible stock hop up rubber. The gearbox design is pretty much indestructible, so don't be afraid of using a heavy but durable piston setup. The battery compartment is huge, and will fit almost anything. I have a large 9.6 and there's still an inch and a half of extra space. For 270, that's pretty much a steal. I'd buy one if I didn't already have a CA M14. Hell I paid twice as much as you did for my M14.

I had the G&G M14 EBR Max. Aside from the motor, if you're just running standard 400-450fps with an 11.1v lipo, you actually don't need any upgrades aside from the craptastic motor and gearbox reshim/regrease.

I ran a socom max for my first half season. It's a solid gun, the motor has no issues pulling 400fps at a reasonable rof with a 9.6v 4000mah battery.
Be careful of the front sling mount, I didn't trust mine as there's not much holding it into the stock. Also the stock is brittle, you may want to reinforce it with epoxy inside where all the square cells are. Mine cracked right at the corner of the magwell on both sides. mags are also hard to find and a bit expensive. The g&g ones feed better than CA.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but you could be getting 200ft range with your VFC
"DMR" in airsoft is only the slightest hair more accurate than run of the mill guns. The accuracy is typically determined by brand of gun and type of hop chamber used. But you can get impressive range and accuracy with normal M4s |

Also TM pistols for some crazy reason.

Why dont you consider a G&G M4 MAX, Commando or A3. Price only 30$ more, but it is standard gear, with longer 500mm barrel.
I am not recommending, I am asking, this sale is really tempting also My G&G Mp5 SD6 MAX is too short for big outdoors. |
