Noob needs help with version 2 gear box.
I recently installed some new parts on my AGM 416. A piston and piston head, air seal nozzle, spring guide, shims, and a hop up rubber/bucking. this was too aleviate the air leak problem the gun had, which was successfully corrected with these parts. however it started a couple of new problems. Such as, the trigger is not functioning properly. A full pull of the trigger will result in the moving portion of the contacts slipping back past the trigger and stopping any firing of the gun. I'm not sure what is causing this as it was working before taking the gun apart.
Also it is not feeding properly with a full mag. It almost seems like the tension in the mag caused by it being full is to much tension for the bb's to feed properly. When the mag is only half full it feeds no problem. With a full mag, sometimes it doesn't feed any bb's and sometimes it double feeds bb's. Another problem that was occuring occasionally before i opened the gun and even more after I opened it is that in Semi auto the gun doesn't seem to cycle properly. I believe that this could be because the trigger contacts are slipping back past the trigger before a full cycle is complete. And in full auto it sometimes works fine and sometimes it will only fire 3-4 rounds and then stop. Again I think this could be caused by the trigger contacts. The cut off lever seems to be in good shape, as does the the selector plate. Although I am not sure what the proper operation of the selector plate and cut off lever are... Any tips and/or tricks of the trade are appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. :banghead:

Tappet plate is good too?
The trigger issue could be the spring is on the wrong way. The feeding issue can be the tappet plate its spring or the nozzle or the cylender head itself. Lotta times parts in clone gearboxes doesnt work out tok well and vise versa like what happened to me. I got a lonex shelltryed putting my echo 1 parts in it. The cutoff lever doesnt work properly in the lonex shell so i got no semi and the gears from the echo1 didnt work in the lonex shell (for long) got 40 of 50 rounds out of it and they stripped. Apparently echo1 and jg gearboxes are off in the location of the busbings and as such their gears are a lil off to compensate for this putting em in a wuality box made the sector and spur gear run too close together and chewed them up fast. Put in lonex gears works great. So it could just be fitment issues of the new parts. As for another potential feeding issue. What bbs are you using. If you load ghe mag then flick the lil switch that activates the bb retainer do the bbs all fly out or does the mag jam up?

Try pushing the mag forward when it's full to see if it feeds. The spring tension in the mag might be enought to disengage the lip that keeps the BBs in the mag.
If you feel the trigger slider passing over the trigger when trying to fire, probably the slider's spring is bent and might just need some plier's love. Edit: The cut-off lever hits the trigger slider to disengage power once the gear had reached the specific position, and so the piston stays in neutral position. The selector plates, in semi, does nothing except if you have metal contacts on it's side, it just makes contact then. In auto mode, the selector prevents the cut-off lever to disengage the slider, and so the motor keeps running on and on. Last edited by audi_bhoy; April 17th, 2013 at 19:22.. |

You probably installed the trigger unit wrong or bent something.
The selector plate will do 3 things: Push a plastic lock in safe position. Make the electric contact on semi/auto, and break it on safe (electrical safe, not all guns have it). Pull the cut-off lever in auto-position, to prevent it from tripping the trigger block. Your feeding problem might be caused by a too tight tappet plate or nozzle, or incompatible parts. As stated, the trigger block should not bounce back if the cut-off lever is not tripped. the pin of the lever should be under the trigger block in normal operation, and pushes the block up when tripped, making it slip past the trigger. |

Thanks guys, the tappet plate and nozzle are good and move freely on the cylinder head. After some more research, the nearest I can figure is that either the cut off lever was not re-installed properly or it is stuck and engaged all the time. There is a metal tab on the electrical end of it. As for the feeding issue, the bbs do "fly out" when the tab is pulled back, I can visually check and confirm that the nozzle is moving as it should, but there is a 2 piece hop up that may or may not have been re-installed properly. ...Thanks again for the advice
