What kind of metal are VFC gearboxes made form.
I took a look around Google for the answer but I haven't found it yet. I think I heard some place that they were made from steel, but that might just be my imagination.

My AKSU has regular zinc alloy (or whatever that pot metal is called) gearbox in it.

I don't think ANY gearboxes are steel, all cast metal.
However there are some aftermarket CNC'd aluminum ones. |

There has been at least one limited production steel CNC machined aftermarket gearbox on the market, but it was extremely expensive ($250 USD if my memory serves correctly), and extremely difficult to find these days, as it was a limited production.

Group of people based in Europe who are known for their custom guns made a limited run of steel shells in 2006. $420 a pop Ridiculous price and not like anyone would really need one with our FPS limits.
