Type of Motor for Cyma AKs74u

Hey guys, I have a AKs74u and I would like to upgrade the motor, what should I consider and if anyone has done this (or maybe I am overthinking a simple upgrade) what motor is "best" for the AKs74u?

the internals are upgraded, I have a good modify modular gear set and good grade spring (260fps w/ .2s), piston, cylinder etc. (mainly Modify parts). I use 7.4 lipo, no feeding problems with my mags. I have been running this gun as my primary for a few years without it EVER giving me issues (except mag mis-feeding with Lipo 9.6, maybe a new motor will fix this?)

Thanks!

Any reason why you are running the gun under 300fps with 0.20g?

I mean, don't get me wrong, 260 is fine for cqb, but you will have really poor performance outdoors...

My inner barrel is between a Mp5 and a Aks74u (I had to cut it to fit a smaller flash hider). I play an assault role and its my style, up front and not wanting to leave anyone in pain with over doing the FPS.

Cool, and now that I know your 260fps wasn't a typo, I'm sure one of the AK guys can chime in.

I was thinking about doing an ak setup at the end of the year using Lonex parts. Their motors are, so I hear, rock solid.

Nice! I was actually looking at those . Problem is I am not sure if I should be going for short, medium or long?

Do you know what kind of motor is in there already? The A5 is an alright motor, but it's more of a replace your broken part kind of deal rather than an upgrade.

And even with the lower end of springs, 260 is low. You probably have an air leak somewhere.

TM spring with a cut barrel could probably put him at 260. But you're right. 99% of aftermarket parts would put people at or above 300, even with silly short barrels (mp5k, for instance)

When i bought a used tm ak47 the pinion gear was gone so bad i just replaced the motor from ehobbyasia, it was a generic short v3 motor and cost leas than 20$. Im turning it with a 9.6 or 8.4 nmhd. For me its fine. Recently ive had mag feed issues im guessing tit was the mag as i havnt used the gun in a while.

ive got a CYMA AK47 and am running an SHS Ultra Torque motor..

I'm pretty sure the AK74 would be very close in terms of set up...

Im very close to pulling the trigger on picking one of these AK74 (Cm-035A) up.. how do you like it?

CYMA AK's come with a high torque motor with neodymium magnets. Not great if you are all about rate of fire.
