Changing two-piece front assembly to one-piece.
This may be a newb question, however I'm fairly new to airsoft. (modding anyways) I was wondering if you're able to change a two piece front assembly (r.i.s) with a delta ring and all, to a one piece (freefloat?) assembly.
I own a ICS M4 plastic sportline AEG (http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=6796) and I'm looking to fit an Ares Shorty CQB Front end kit on it (http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...ducts_id=13335) am I able to, and how should I do it? |

Yes. It just depends on the barrel nut/delta ring unit that you have.
So the ICS has a traditional delta ring and barrel nut that you pull back and take off while the ARES kit all you need to do is take off the stock delta ring assy. (easiest to do with an AR wrench) and replace with the new barrel nut. Note that specific barrel nuts are specific to one type of free float system. ie. If you wanted a Noveske handguard you'd have something like this http://madbull.com/catalog/index.php...roducts_id=257 while if you wanted a Daniel Defence rail you'd have something like this http://rifleshooter.com/wp-content/u...barrel-nut.jpg mounted like this http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...n/DSC01931.jpg NOTE: Make sure that you know what threading your upper has. Some companies (eg. G&P) are weird with their threading and may require special barrel nuts in order to fit a new rail system on properly.
