Affordable polarstar build

Hey so what I was planning on doing was building a polarstar build at a somewhat affordable price. What was the plan was to buy a cheap full metal body and swap the engine in there. My plan was to use a JG BAMF from evike at $130, swap out the inner barrel and hop up. What do you guys think of this plan?

Also I was wanting to have a build with a 450mm barrel. The bamf has a 363mm barrel but if it is like my Classic army m15a4 (which also has a 363mm barrel) the inner barrel stops short of the outer barrel. So In my m15a4 I could fit a 450mm barrel with the barrel barely extended past the inner barrel. Does anyone know if this would be the case with the bamf?

I put a P* into my AGM STG, originally bought it for $400 or so, few years back.. now they sell for $200+.
Price isn't everything Go nuts, have at it. Just know that you might run into fitment issues here and there, I did with the STG. Nothing a quick talk with Mr.Dremel didn't fix.

Heck, why not go even *cheaper* and just drop it into your CA M15? Spend that $130+ on the redline air rig or some such. Be a heck of a lot simpler then trying to import yourself too.

Not sure about the second part.

You can't buy guns outside Canada (at least, not without much paperwork and time consumed).

You best bet would be to buy a P* built already IN CANADA. There are a few retailers that have them.

They are PR15 built on VFC receivers, with FEV2 GEN3.

And retail around 750$.

Why not just buy a PR-15 in canada, they are only couple hundred more than the engine it self and the bodies are extremely high quality and the engines are designed around them so everything fits perfectly.

Its already in canada and will not cost you anything at the border or run the risk of being seized.

Affordable polarstar build

It you want affordable, stick with a pre-built rifle. Only build with the drop in P* if you plan to change all the externals or already have a donor AEG to drop it in.

I built mine from 'spare' parts as I had a new unused madbull receiver and an old JP rifles front end but have still spent too much money for specific parts to complete it, and it's not done yet.

Make the maths any way you want but P* is anything but affordable... I'm not saying it's not worth the investment, but once you consider buying the redline, a tank, an upgraded inner barrel, etc.... the external parts are not much in the equation.

And what happens when you have an alignment issue on your build? You dont buy a cheap gun for high performance on an aeg for the same reason you dont with a polarstar.

Does anyone know of a Canadian retailer that sells the P* AK's? I've Only been able to find retailers who sell the ARs/M16s.

Considering the retailer I mentionned has a banner in the upper right corner of this forum that can be seen by unverified users...

As much as I want to follow the rules of this forum, the "retailer information restricted to AVed sections" rule seems a bit out of date.

out of date or not, it's a forum rule not to post it.

You make do, with Mr.Dremel and PVC sheets for shimming where needed, etc..
Not pretty, but had to do some very minor alignment fixes in my STG. Albeit, mine is old and a screw or two is missing/stripped.
Works perfectly fine after some TLC.
