MP5 bevel gear shimming method?

Is there any tips or easier ways to shim this gun according to bevel/pinion meshing? Because it very difficult to see the gear meshing since the "motor cage" is built into the lower receiver.

Info will be greatly appreciated, thanks !

I have had this problem with v2s. I had a spare mp5 lower lying around and "modified it" (see cutting in half) and rigged it so I can see and make adjustments as needed.

Are the angles that far off that you could not use a standard m4 grip to shim and then do the motor height by ear once in the lower? I've got a masada to do at some point so same issue as the mp5...

Yes, you can install a standard M4 pistol grip to do your shims.
Then you only have to adjust the height of the motor in the MP5.

I still just put a .5 or .3mm shim under the bevel, just enough to get it above the spur, and assemble it that way.
Of the dozens of guns I've done, I've only ever had to go back and re-shim it once because that was an odd brand that had an enormously wide mechbox and I used 2mm of shims on each gear.
You'll be able to hear very obviously if the pinion/bevel meshing it outside the adjustment range
