VFC MK18 Firing Issue

Ok my VFC MK18 has had issues with firing when the trigger is pulled. I charged the battery a 11.1v lipo and on semi every 3rd or 4th trigger pull the motor would turn and the gun would fire other times it wouldn't at all. At one point I heard a sizzling sound coming from my pistol grip area. I think I most likely have fried my motor. and thinking it was my Trigger contacts I opened the gear box up and inspected the contacts, They look fine. The gun is less than 3 and 1/2 months old. Any other issues that could cause the motor to not function? Just looking for opinions and input as to any other possible causes besides the motor that I haven't looked at.

got another motor to try? easiest way to see.

Also pull the motor out of the grip but hook the wires back up.. see if the motor turns with no load.

Sadly no spare, Gotta get another one, And I took the motor out and it still doesn't turn even with no load.

no multimeter? it's still possible the contacts are cooked. I serviced a vfc 416 where the end of a tab on a contact was snapped off from excessive arcing and it couldn't complete a circuit anymore.

The Contacts are in good order from what I can see, I'll check it for sure with a multimeter

check the conductivity of the fuse as well.. I've seen one blow inside the end conductor so you couldn't see the wire break.

Dry test the motor. Spin it a few times manually and see if there is anything jamming it. Also check the motor brush wires, they sometimes break/fry.

Wasn't anything jamming it and the contacts on the motor are still good from what I can see. I think something inside the motor broke

Have you checked the brush wires? Any heat damage?
I once had a brush wire break on a Lonex motor.
I also once had a G&P stop working from heat damage. The heat caused the bottom cap to begin to melt, the screws came loose and the brush wire was disconnected.

what kind of motor? it's a real possibility the motor can fail, they're only meant to handle 8v
And if you don't have at least a simple mosfet on your gun then shame on you, you're gonna kill your trigger contacts too lol

im assuming stock VFC motor? I havent used them in the long run but ive heard they arent that great.

Try a new motor, if it isnt the motor, well at least you have a better after market motor. I'd suggest a Lonex Motor they work great!

I had the same issue with mine out of the box. I replaced the motor with a Lonex, and she runs great now.
