Paint preferences.
Please excuse me if this is already posted. I use Tapatalk almost exclusively and its search options are wanting at best.
I'm wondering about your paint preferences. I see that Krylon is often touted here, and just as often lamented. I had a CanTire clear M4 springer and painted it with TireBlack, which produced a semi-matte finish and has been more durable than expected, after over a decade of handling. So if I want to paint something to match my tan We Scar, what brand and colour name would you suggest? If wanted to paint my mask in CAF colours, what would you suggest? List your fave paint brands and colour names or colour codes. If this has been posted before, post a link and ignore me, lol. |

Aervoe has the best match for FDE in a spray can. You can get it from Dave's Tactical.
You can probably get all the relish green colours too but for the mask I bet it would look better if you dipped it.

Krylon if I want that 'used' look, Duracoat if I want it to stay shiny forever

Sorry, when I said shiny I should have clarified that I meant the opposite of the 'used' look, as in Duracoat will never chip or wear off. Not shiny as in reflective shiny

I've always used krylon, the matte black looks alright but never gave that dull matte anodized metal texture i was looking for. Also, not sure if anyone else mentioned this before but I've seen krylon eat through plastic before, it seemed to dissolve the plastic when it was oversprayed so keep in mind that any paint, especially krylon, could likely weaken the structural integrity of the plastic.
Ah, I remember the plastic that dissolved was the white pvc I used on my potato cannon. Perhaps that only happens to pvc. |
