Need help find a hop up rubber for Prometheus TB Barrel
Hi, I'm looking for a hop up rubber/bucking for my ICS L85. I have a Prometheus tight bore barrel installed in the gun. I'm not sure what kind of a hop up bucking would be best for this setup.
Right now I have a soft Guarder clear hop up installed but I'm not too happy with the results. The BBs will arc up a little after about 100 feet and will veer right or left. |

I'm using .25 and sometimes .28s
I'm shooting at around 400fps...but I can quickly change the spring position for lower fps to about 350fps for indoor |

If the bb go right or left it is probably because it is not well centered in the window. As for other options:
Lonex: very afforable does the job PDI W: my favorite, really shine with CQB setup, it's impressive how far I can shoot with a 320 FPS setting. R-hop: Need time to install, and tune, however probably the best available once you do it right. |

Should I go for a soft or hard rubber?

hard for 400fps
Use only the best hop rubber. It's the single most important component of your gun for getting range and accuracy |

higher fps if you're using just a normal style rubber, you want hard rubbers... they impart more stable spin on the BB. Harder rubbers don't seal as well though.
At 400 fps you should be using .28s or .3s or heavier if you can find them I've converted quite a number of people to .3s at 1.4~J.. a lot less right or left bias. If you R-hop, a softer sleeve will give you great seal while the Rhop provides a great, stable hop effect to your BBs, when you Rhop, for sure go 1 step heavier on BB, even 2. I use .32s at 1.4J

if you dont want to fuss with rhop install a modify flat hop rubber and a prometheus bridge tensioner (they come with a hard and soft one so u can test what one works best in your setup) and some .30's or .32's, again test what works best for you.

I did a comparison with a polar star running a flat hop at 400fps and my AEG running an R-Hop at 350fps. Used 0.30g BBs for both guns and the AEG was getting much more range than the polar star. Its crazy how much better the R-Hop compared to the flat hop. |

Do a well tuned bridge hop compared to a well tuned R-hop, very little difference.

^^that, especially if you use the smooth rubber (i preffer the promy one, but they are out of stock most places and have to come from japan or china) with the hard promy bridge tensioner. You get the good seal from the soft sleeve and good hop from the hard nub, plus with the notch in the bridge it centers the bb beter than the flat style, (same reason folks are using tue scs or H nubs with the rhops)
