springfield armory trp operator frame

Hey guys, I'm back, been doing some upgrading and tinkering, will post some pics for my current project in the pistols section.

So after watching a particular movie, I noticed the pistol used was a TRP Operator and I liked the full rail on the bottom. I wanted to replicate it with my pistol, a hybrid of a TM 5.1 slide on a Army brand R28 (if you recall me asking about it before, I actually got them working, although the grip safety doesn't QUITE do what it's supposed to. (when not pressed trigger moved freely, doesn't fire. When safety IS pressed, and trigger pulled, I can feel pressure inside pressing against the grip, and the trigger moves only a bit, but the gun fires just fine. Not sure exactly what I did when I switched the Army hammer for the Hi-Capa hammer, the arms looked identical and were same shape etc)

ANYWAY. My question. I know frames can't be imported but I'm wondering if anyone happens to know of any BRANDS that make the frame of a 1911 that is compatible with a TM slide that has the elongated dust cover with full rail?

I'm currently looking for canadian suppliers, but so far, no luck. Anyone have ideas? Preferably a METAL frame. Thanks! :P

What I'm looking for:

The closest thing I'd get would be changing the original 5.1 grip to a Tanio Koba tactical grip wouldn't it, since I purchased a long dust over chassis for the 5.1 a while back? Would that change the magazines it takes or is it still going to be using the 5.1 magazines? I would like to use 1911 magazines preferably so just looking for options.

If you want to use 1911 magazines you need to buy a 1911.....

The Nova SFA Operator kit looks close to what you're after. It's a conversion kit for the 1911/MEU though. 5.1 will not work. It's also expensive and likely hard to source (more so in Canada).

I have a 1911 frame that is installed the 5.1 slide. It's using TM 1911 magazines right now.

The system is really just that, a TM 5.1 slide installed on a 1911 frame. Not complicated in the least, so the two concerns I have are FINDING a frame that looks the part, and whether the fitment is going to be compatable or not with the 5.1 slide. I'll look into the Nova set, although I don't need the whole thing lol

EDIT: Looked into it, there's two types, one is the dust cover isn't long enough to go to the muzzle, so it's the same as my current build, but there is one with the long dust cover... trick is finding one now. Thanks though. Back to looking lol
