dboys scar l + madbull pws compatibility issue
so i've been thinking about buying a dboys scar because
1: i've had far too many lemons with really expensive aeg's... 2: vfc scar (or any scar) is virtually sold out everywhere... 3: it's cheaper + a local retailer has it in stock but besides the point, i've been doing research on the madbull pws rail extention...see, i wanna get it to put on the scar but all i can find is that it "does not fit" the dboys scar L my question is, by definition of "does not fit" is it because of size issue? screws issues? short barrel issue? like is there really no hope for it or can it be solved by something simple like shaving and filing the pws to make it fit? or get a barrel extension to make it work? thank you all for your time in advance p.s. on a totally unrelated note, i also want a jg aug a3...because i like the aug a3 model... between the dboys scar L or the jg aug a3...which one is worth more to get first? althou hjg aug a3 is non-existent in canada...but based on how hot it shoots it should be safe for import...though i'd rather not risk it if a canadian retailer actually has it in stock...

The VFC is better, inside and out. Off the top of my head, it has: 1) The better gearbox 2) The better body material and quality control 3) The nicer electrical system (no exposed wires when the stock is folded) 4) The nicer box (hardcase) AND it works out of the box with the PWS SRX, do you REALLY want to spend a bit less and have 1) an inferior gun 2) something that you'll have to fiddle with and potentially make modifications that may reduce the resale value of parts? It constantly boggles me the extent that people are willing to cut corners to save a few bucks only to realize that they should have bought the more quality version in the first place. And you REALLY don't want a JG AUG. TRUST ME ON THIS. Last edited by Stealth; July 16th, 2013 at 11:15.. |

My last 3 aeg's were all $450+ before taxes...all lemons
So apart from losing a little faith in high end aeg's...it's also left me rather broke. While I most definitely agree that a VFC scar is vastly superior in many many ways, but it's just really really expensive...and it's virtually sold out everywhere all the time... At least with a slightly cheaper gun I can gut out the internals and upgrade it to my hearts content without crying if it turns out to be another lemon

As stated somewhere before the Dboys Scar is actually a clone of the Classic Army Scars not VFC despite the general notion.
I would suggest getting the VFC still cause it is easy to get replacements (all them) via VFC themselves, this is very helpful when you lose the clip that holds the pin in place for the buttpad because it went flying off whole you tried to put the buttpad back on...... |

What guns did you buy and how did they break? I've never seen a VFC lemon. The PWS is actually designed specifically for the VFC SCAR.

The piston? Well..just make sure your AOE correction is on point because its made of mozzarella cheese and will strip on like you're waiting for a toonie slide (urban dictionary that.)
The hop up unit is where the shit goes down - first of all there is no after market replacement AND its proprietary - so if you do what i did, and over turn the adjustment wheel screw, you'll strip the threads and your hop up arm will never stay in the same place you set it to again. Dboys uses the same clear plastic piston and clear plastic hop up unit in their guns - and speaking of Dboys, dont even get me started on their 2mm larger magwells and the fitment issues you'll have there. |

Ummmm...ok, so I get the general consensus that you all hate dboys scar.
Got it. But aside from that, I'm still curious as to how and why the pws rail extension won't fit the dboys scar l

Can I change my suggestion to this. I always forget G&G's. Probably the most well rounded of the bunch imo

I find G&G to be fairly underrated here for some reason. Personally I'd buy G&G over most guns out there.
