WE Samurai Edge Modification

Hopefully someone can answer this!

I recently ordered a WE samurai edge m9 and am waiting for it to come in. I would like to change out the lower/frame on it though to a frame with an integrated rail.

I've been looking at the KJW m9a1 and I would basically just swap the grips from the samurai edge to the KJW and use take the slide from the samurai edge and replace that onto the KJW frame.

Should this work fine? The guy at my local airsoft shop said he thinks it will work but has anyone tried it?

For reference, these are the two guns I'm talking about.

Samurai Edge

KJW m9a1

for the record, I know I could get a rail mount but I'm wondering if this can work first.

TLDR;

would the slide from the we samurai edge m9 easily fit onto the lower of the kjw m9a1 so that I could have an integrated rail?

Lol So you think buying 2 guns is easier than putting a rail onto the gun you already have?

The KJW is TM compat, the WE not so much, the we's slide might not fit onto the rails on the kjw without some sanding/filing OR it might be too wide and ride sloppily on the rails

The WE's outer barrel system might also be an issue, so may have to use the KJW's outer barrel, leading to further issues

I'm aware it's more work...didn't say it would be easier. I've just heard rail mounts are generally kinda wobbly and crappy. Thanks for the reply.

"If you have a Tokyo Marui Samurai Edge from years ago that is out of service, this pistol would also act as an "complete replacement upgrade kit" for your Marui Samurai Edge M9. The WE Samurai Edge M9 features everything on a Marui Samurai Edge with the addition of a metal slide"

Evike has this to say about the WE samurai edge, so maybe it will work fine?!

Unless everything "out of service" are the parts to be used as replacements...

Any any chance are you trying to make the Wesker model, with all of this parts swapping? It's the only reason why I can see you'd do this. Even the ones in the games aren't with rails with the exception of that one.

Trying to mix and match brands like that is always a risky proposition: specs don't have to be off by much for things to not fit properly.

That being said, WE M9 mags work in the KJW so it seems a fairly safe bet the specs are pretty close on both (i.e., Marui clone).

But if you're just going for the look of that railed frame, why not stick to WE?

Yeah, I suppose that's an option although I'm not a fan of the front and back grips on the SOC model there. The reason I was asking about the KJW is because my local store has it in stock. I would have to get them to order in the we m9 = even more cost for this silly project of mine.

Then you'd probably also need to sand down the stainless parts on your slide, swap for a beaver tail, and paint the frame. Even if you could fit the parts, a paint job or sand-down on any of the parts might throw off your fitment. Its an interesting idea, though, and I'd like to see the build if you could do it. Best of luck.

Edit: Sorry, still thinking in 1911 mode. As far as I know, the end of the frame where the beaver tail is on Wesker's gun is actually integrated, so it's not just a drop in part replacement. The easiest (but pricey) way to do what you're proposing is to buy a Marui Samurai Edge standard, and a Marui M9A1. Swap the A1 frame over to the Samurai, paint and move over the grips and such...even then, you re missing out on the SE frame markings, but at least TM to TM fit is always good. It would also be a very expensive show piece...not to mention the cost of the LAM for the rail.

I have the WE Samurai Edge M9 As well as the KJW PT92 Both guns look awesome and function flawlessly. shortly after I got them I checked to see if the magazines were interchangeable. Yes the function perfect in every way. This got me curious so I tried each every peice swap from one to the other and it looks perfect fits perfect and functions flawless Has me wondering of both the WE Samurai Edge M9 and KJW PT92 are actually designed and manufactured in the same factory.

By the way I a
So have the KWC M92 4.5mm steel bb pistol the WE Samurai Edge and KJW 6mm AirSoft slide fit and work on that frame. The magazine although different caliber one 4.5 steel bb the others 6 mm plastic bb fit and work in all three guns
