CTW suddenly died, No blue LED light
Hey guys, in some kind of trouble here.
I was shooting my CTW ( Ver 3.8 ) and it was working fine, I switch a new mag and the next thing the gun won't fire. I check the lower and the blue LED light isn't on. In short, i check and made sure the battery is good, the fuse is good, and all wire seems okay. Any idea what cause the issue? Thanks!! best kev Last edited by masterduck; December 4th, 2014 at 20:17.. |

actually are you 100% sure the fuse is good? and yes you will need a meter to check. Also check the wires going to the ECU, even the volt catch... it can be several things.

I will have to get my friend to check the board with an amp meter then. The quad colours wire going between the two boards is pretty sketchy. Do you know where i can get a new one just in case? best kev |

Oh yea. I notice the gear that connects with the piston is stuck. I am not sure if that's normal or you should be able to turn it with your hand.

With a good amount of force you can turn the sector gear with your thumb. If you remove the motor it will be much easier to turn that gear.
How old is this CTW? I'm suspecting MOSFET or motor. |

What would cause the blue light to turn off ? Beside a fuse or faulty mosfet board ? Best Kev |

Bad battery connector can cause problems. A battery with an actual Dean's connector mated to a gun with a clone connector can be a problem.

Literally brand spanking new. Just to be sure. Is the mosfet the board before the gear box or the one in the buffer tube?

You should try get a free replacement since its brand spanking new. You might have gotten a lemon as i heard the ctw's are alot better now than before. Pretty sure its a lemon as i've seen G&D Dtw's last longer than a mag haha

I hope you tested more than just the mosfet. As I have done repairs where the mosfet and mainboard were dead. You need to system(a)tically test connections everywhere.
Yes the mosfet is the one in the buffer tube. |
