P90 inner barrel upgrade question.

I recently bought a Classic army proline p90 tri-rail. Now I have a silencer and I've done the measurements and I need a 430mm barrel. Now it has a ported cylinder for its 247mm barrel but if I get a tighter bore 430mm inner barrel will I need a non-ported cylinder? Thanks.

Yes.
But you don't need a 430mm barrel either, the 247mm is just fine.

Ya, I've heard that length doesn't particularly matter for an AEG. Pardon my noobiness, but why is that?

Also, if some one stripped the screws for the back plate that holds in the gearbox. Where would one aquire more? Thanks again lol

The length in which the BB stabilizes itself in the barrel is mostly dependent on the air pressure driving it.
Shorter barrels have ported cylinder. Ported cylinders allow the piston to accelerate first then hit the compression point with lots of momentum, causing higher initial pressure, which is probably in the 80psi range for the P90.

So if your BB stabilizes itself in the first 5" of your 10" barrel, what difference is an extra 6" of barrel going to make?

Most accuracy comes from the hop rubber and BB.
And range is just hop rubber/BB weight/muzzle energy.
The only thing that really matters in the barrel is the quality.

In general,

The best aftermarket barrels are made of some kind of steel. Barrels are cut from VERY long pipes that are kept on racks. Over time the weight of the long pipe will cause sections to sag, most likely un-perceptible to the human eye, but those imperfections cause significant problems with consistency/accuracy from barrels.

Fundamentally same goes for pool cues, high end pool cues are made from wedges of quality wood with similar grain patterns never from a single piece of wood. Mass produced stuff is a shaped wooden dowels.

not sure why u need a longer barrel..
The P90 i had used a madbull 6.03 tightbore 247mm, it shoots really straight.
