VFC gearbox compatibility

I have a VFC VR16 upper that needs to be replaced. The gearbox is fine, and has been heavily upgraded internally, so I would like to replace only the externals.

Sadly, I cannot find any VR16 upper receivers in stock. So I may need to buy an entirely new metal body. I would prefer to do that, rather than buy a new rifle.

Does anyone know if VFC version 2 gearboxes fit in any other brands?

You can, you're just doing it wrong.

Could you provide a link? I’ve contacted VFC and have received no reply. I couldn’t find a SR635 receiver on their site

What he means is email VFC. They are excellent about getting parts for their gear out to folks. And to check your spam folder because they're going to reply to your message.

I understand that he meant to email VFC. I've done that, and haven't received a reply. It's not in my regular or junk mail.

What I'm confused about is where BioRage found a $52 USD rail without a URL link.

I only use these guys. Met them in TPE when I was there, awesome people. I've bought a ton off them for my VFC's.

There's no link, there's no buy it now button. It's all a one off deal via the email conversation with the VFC folks overseas. If you you're not getting replies the switch to a backup email. If you can't do that contact a retail spot in Canada that does a lot of VFC and see what they can do. It'll cost you more than direct.

They're super helpful. They sent me PBS parts no charge in the post.

$52usd is better than the $83.50usd I was quoted in October for “V020URV014, AEG upper receiver“ from vfc.. that quote was from iris.
