PSI of an ICS MP5

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anybody had any rough idea how much PSI an ICS MP5 is packing? It's ICS stock and from what I understand, it comes slightly upgraded?

I was thinking about creating a silencer to work effeciently change the sound coming out of the gun. the "Phit phit phit" sound should hopefully come out as a puff puff puff. I'm just trying to figure out the right calculations to make this work.

I'm already working towards lowering my motor and gear noise as well...

If anybody could help me out, it would muchly appreciated!

PSI? Pounds per square inch? Last I recall AEGs used motors. Hence the name of Auto Electric Guns. Please correct me if it means something else, but I though PSI is gasss (propane, Co2, ect.)

Need some mathematical genius around here to figure out the cylinder airspace in inches, then sort out what pressure a rated spring would put on it, then calculate the increase in pressure based on the inner diameter of the nozzle, then follow it through the inner barrel to the end. I'm smart enough to see where PSI would come into play in an AEG, but a real dummy at all that math crap. Want a supressor? Just need a soft and absorbant inside (foam) and maybe baffles to absorb more sound. But 75% or more AEG sound comes from the motor and gears.

BTW, PSI refers to anything liquid or gas.

Not prob. I actually added stuff to mine, forgot he was trying to figure out the PSI at the END of the barrel. Overall I think it's overkill thinking to calculate and design a supressor that will work effectively for an airsoft gun based upon PSI at the end of the barrel, but hey, I won't argue it if he goes that path!

Well, in the end, I'm going to give it a try and see if it helps. According to what I figure, the surpressor should help with the motor and internals a tiny weeny little bit as well.

But I am aware that +75% comes from motor etc. And I hope to find a why to lower their noise as well.

so out of that 75% noise that is produced from the mechbox/motor...

If I was to upgrade the bushings, silent piston head set, helical torque gears, and add that systema motor grip noise reducer... how much of the pie will be lowered? Like 10% 50? 75%?

Hehehe...

Any other suggestions?

BTW, I just found the mats for the silencer so whenever I find the time to bore it out...

Well, two folds -

Firstly, I can customize the lenght, size, design, engravings etc etc etc - which is kinda kewl. Plus, me and my boys are kinda bored without a project so this was something little to keep us busy before the the sunny spring/summer which is now upon us. =;c)~

Secondly, the final price comes out to be less than 20 bucks for mats ontop of some time and effort (no shipping and customs fees!)

The part about having it actually work was a bonus for the project.

wrap your mech box in a high quality packing foam. I think it is called dense fibre or something like that. You know the kind of sticky one? yah that's the stuff. Just wrap it around the mech box and close her up.
