Are there any Canadian retailers that currently stock UTG stuff? Or is it too craptastic for anyone to care about and am I gunna have to preorder an SVD? If for nothing else but to hang on a wall.

Well from the specs that have been posted it appears to be ok. Yes UTG does make a lower quality gun, however this being a spring powered SVD that may be just ok. Replace some of there lower end stuff with high end and you may just end up with a decent performing and cheaper SVD. I highly doubt that you'll be able to put a mechbox in this as the SVD reciever is very different then an AK reciever. Of course with enough modding anything is possible.
We'll have to see what the quality will be like on this one but UTG has been improving with each release.

The new SVD with composite stock and for grip have the groove for bipods, but the older versions, i.e. wood furniture, do no, since the gun already has a incredible stability because of the stock/grip.

Personally I think from that particular photo provided the gun looks like it would come out of a "Cracker Jack" box, but that's just my opinion. Althought the idea of having an SVD for a reasonable price, that gun looks like it came from Toys'R'Us. Cool idea though.
