v2 bevel gear loose
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with a V2 mechbox I got. It seizes up and doesn't fire at all. I've tried spinning the gears (before disassembling it) and they don't budge. I believe it's something to do with the shimmming, any input here guys?

Was it previously worked on?
How long did it work for since it was worked on? Need more info to be able to start narrowing the problem down. |

From what the previous owner told me the person he got it from had it upgraded with Guarder internals of which HoJo preformed himself. When I got the gun it was not working, the issue of which I had narrowed it down to be from the selector plate being dull .. it's been replaced. I do not believe that I'm missing any parts or have anything in the wrong place .. I have the same amount of shims as I had since I popped the gearbox open. When the gearbox is assembled, the bushings go in and out through the otherside. |

Did you putthe shims back where you found them, or "mostly"? Seems to be leading to someone looking at it in person, as opposed to online help.

Anti-reversal latch inverted?
Make certain that there is a gap between the gears, they might not rub against the walls of the gearbox, but they might rub against eachother. When you open the gearbox, remove the anti-reversal latch, piston, cylinder, tapet plate end trigger. Close the gearbox with 2 screws (1 at the bottom and 1 at the top) at this point try spinning the gears with your finger and see what the end result is that way.

Have you checked the polarity?
It happens to the best...motor migth be spinning the wrong way.

Checked that too, at one point it was working with only the gearbox attached to the lower receiver, after that it just started seizing up once I put the whole thing together =/

What kind of motor plate do you use?
Guarder with the ball bearing? I had issues with one of those, where the bearing was preventing the shaft form turning due to too much friction. I'm running out of ideas. Sorry I can't help much more than that. Take it to a local gun doctor, that's all I can suggest.

If they fit too loose, you can close the bushing holes more by using a pointed punch and a hammer. Make sure the mechbox sides are perfectly flat, place the punch about 0.5mm or a bit more, at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions, hammer hit enough to spread the mechbox metal a bit into the hole. Really only need a reasonable smack, not pound the piss outta it.
