Digital camo stencils
Anyone know a good way to make or a place to buy digital camo stencils? I want to paint the grips on my AK in a MARPAT pattern but cant really think of a way to get the stencils....

Go buy yourself some graph paper, draw the pattern on using the grids as a guide and cutout w/ an xacto knife and a ruler. Takes time, but it's cheap and effective. Best to do while watching a movie or something.

I just measured the pixels on the cadpat i had (pretty close to 1cm if i recall).
Drew a 1 cm grid on some card stock making a pattern resembing some cadpat patterns. Then cut it all out with an exacto. |

My grips are the only thing i want to paint, and they're the camo green colour not wood. so im not really ruining it.

If you can use Photoshop, download a hi res pic of the pattern you want to copy, then use the "majic wand" selection tool to select each color.
Paste each color into a separate pic, print, and use as overlays. Add refernce marks to get everything to line up. Works great if you are only painting something small and don't need to worry about repetitions.

just be sure to have the proper dpi otherwise it will be off scale.
