MP5 A/SD
I have a question that may sound dumb to most, but is converting an MP5A...to an MP5SD... as simple as removing the foregrip and replacing it, or is an entirely new front-end set and receiver modification necessary?

New front end pretty much. The cocking tube remains the same, though under the round foregrip there's a rounded mold that holds it better. The front site is replaced so that your silencer will lock on, and of course the silencer. CA used to sell full SD front end sets, so check airsoft parts, or 007, or A&A to see if they can get them still.

Alright, thanks for the info!
Oh, you mentioned a rounded mold to fit the SD front-end on snug? If so, would it be best to buy an MP5SD and convert it to an MP5A, or to do the opposite and get an MP5A and convert that to an MP5SD? Or will it even matter the slightest bit? New question! Do any kits exist, or can a UMP be used, to convert an MP5 into an MP5/10? For instance, can an MP5's magwell be replaced with a UMP magwell without any issues? Furthermore, assuming that such a thing is possible, does anyone know if translucent MP5/10 magazines with dummy-rounds and quick-clamp system exist in the Airsoft world?

The MP5 magwell is the body...not removable, so my guess would be no.
But I have never been around a UMP |
