Having a similar thing happen @ work right now.

One girl basically stole 30 dollars of mirrors that I was selling then never showed up again. Good thing I've got her cell # and reverse lookup is a joke. (long story short, working demolition, and was given a bunch of the store's stuff they didn't need, so I'm salvaging them)

Allowing a third party to use your account for commerce has got to be a violation. It totally undermines the whole point of age verification and trader ratings.

I'd like to know the screen names involved so that I canavoid them in the future.
I have to say I'm in agreement with you there.

IMO people flake too often. Thats why if someone is serious about buying something they should give a non refundable deposit.

Happy Holidays and what not to everyone. If I don't get contacted by this guy I will post screen names and advise an admin. However, he is part of respectable team, don't what their cred being bashed cuz of him so Im trying to get in contact with the C/O first. Will keep you updated.

If this guy is a member of a respected team, and you've tried to get a hold of him, you should now put the name/team name up. The idea of keeping the item for himself is pretty damned cheesy, and not getting back to you in 2 months is far more time than needed, especially if this fellow is buying/selling other stuff and going to games. I had a similar problem not long ago with a member of team Wolfpack. The upper chain of the club got wind of what was going on and bam, problem solved less than 24 hours later.

An admin or mod should take care of this. I'm pretty sure this sort of thing is against the rules around here. Both accounts should be penalized.

Unless shes around 20 and good looking im not really interested, and if shes only worth 100$ to him, well, as I said not really interested :P. Made some headway, got a msg from him today. Basically he trying to raise funds to pay back debts, hopefully for him I'm the only one. Will update when I get more info.

On that note:

Communication is key to any transaction, especially one that has not been completed or one member of the party is owing. A message every few days or even once a week on updates goes a long way and prevents someone from knocking on your door with a Louisville Slugger.

Joe, if you don't get this resolved in a manner that you deem "a reasonable amount of time", contact me.

I hardly have time for myself these days, let alone airsoft... i come on maybe once a week and it pisses me off to see stuff like this happening, especially around Christmas time.

I just had $300 stolen from me this past weekend by "a friend of a friend." She's a really cute girl too, which makes it that much of a harder pill to swallow. It's also made my holiday season much tougher to bear, as that money was all I had budgeted for social activities from now through New Years. Although I don't have undeniable proof that she took it, she is the only plausible suspect in a room of people that I fully know and trust. So at the moment, I'm extra bitter.

Anyways, let me know if you don't get this resolved and I'll put a move on having the age-verified status of the brother revoked.

Age verification is a privilege, akin to having a driver's license. You should be lending your account to complete deals as much as you should be lending your driver's license to someone else to use (ie, never.)

Sorry to hear Brian, hope you get it back,
Will update, however, just because of the season I don't see money coming back anytime soon so Im not sure how long a reasonable mount of time is. Then theres the sellers bad habits to factor in.

Bah, I say no mercy.

Take him to Sparta!

I would think that most of us here are smart enough to distinguish between the player and patch he wears when he plays... I know personally I'd never hold an entire team responsible for the conduct of one player... can't speak for everyone obviously... but still.

I've been dealing with a local player here by the name of Dustin Faber who still owes me $260, since last april/may. Originally the money was given to him to order parts from UNC since he was already grabbing stuff, and I was suppose to give him the remaining when it showed up (i was between paychecks and thought he was doing me a favor since we were suppose to be the same team). Long story short parts never showed up and after numerous excuses he finally admitting he was lying and didn't have my money. Unfortunately I have been intending to file a suit against him but for one reason or another haven't been able to. Well, I'll either be filing tomorrow or next week as soon as my paycheck clears, and from what I'm told I'm not the only one suing him.

Definitely don't let it go, I know I won't.

Congrats, man. Glad to see you got your cash back. I hope the admins do some swift justice on the account of this guy's brother (who is at fault for letting the guy use his account.)

I totally agree. I would never ask someone to hold something for me just like that. When I bought my WA 92FS from Koopa, I wanted the gun really bad, but knew that because of other bills that had come up, I didn't have the cash. So I offered to give him a non-refundable $25 deposit to at least show that I was serious in my intention to buy, and wasn't going to have him hold a gun for me and end up passing other offers for it, then have me back out. Of course, I was dead serious, and it would take extreme circumstances for me to back out on a deal that I promised I would carry through with. But still, it's reassuring for a seller when at least they have that.

And yeah, I would totally agree with the 'wall of shame' idea too so that we could know who the deadbeat sellers and regular flakers are.
