The right hand side of the gun is easy.

However....

The left hand side is blocked up front by the strap attachment, so you can only slide it in from the rear. The rear is blocked at a fairly high angle by the retaining ring. The instructions say "pull this back, slide it on". I've gotten mine on a few times, but last time I tried it was so tight the RIS cover started snapping like popcorn. As I kept pushing to get it on, it kept snapping the underside retention plastic. I haven't figured out how to get that one (the left one) on and off easily. I tried pulling back on that ring, but I need 4 hands really.
try turning your sling swivel around on the front ,then you can slide it on with no prob.
