Need guidance for TM P226 upgrade guide

hi guys,

i just got my TM p226 chrome stainless version, i would like to build it to make it better, i'm thinking of changing metal slide and frame by guarder, nineball outer barrel, pdi 6.01 tightbarrel, 150 springs and hammer spring by guarder, that's all the thing in my mind, the question is are they a good combination for TM p226? i'm thinking to make it shoot around 350 fps... any suggestions guys? thanks

if you want it to shoot harder, see if you can get a high-flow valve for the mags. dont get a 6.01 barrel. just in case you happen to use crappy bbs, you can avoid a jam. plus, they are more expensive then the 6.03 and i have read that they are not THAT much better than a 6.01. plus, with the 6.03, you can use almost any kind of bbs (except for 8mm obviously) everything else that you have seems to look great. of course, i dont own the gun, so their opinion would be better than mine.

if you want to make it 350 fps then you need to install a metal slide with an enhanced recoil spring with a high flow valve, if that doesnt do that trick add a tightbore but dont go as narrow as 6.01mm.

My new TM P226 is also my 'upgrade gun'. I've got the following upgrades either in my posession already or due to arrive this week. I'll be transplanting the new parts into it probably on the weekend.
  • Creation metal slide & outer barrel (came with a new piston head as well. Don't know what the difference is, but I'll install it anyway)
  • Guarder Steel Recoil spring guide
  • Nineball 6.03mm Barrel
  • Guarder 150% recoil & hammer springs
  • Guarder enhanced nozzle
  • King Arms airseal chamber.
The next upgrade will be to install high flow valves in my mags. The end result will be a very powerful pistol with excellent accuracy, consistency and range. But the high flow valves will wait for a while. I'm sure these upgrades will increase both its rage, velocity and already amazing accuracy significantly.

Down the road, I'd like to get a full metal body and slide kit for it but for now, the metal slide will do fine.

proceed with catuion if you really decide to use a 6.01. a constantly clean innerbarrel and high quality BBs are a must. just use the TM P226 current inner barrel length for the tightbore

I have the 6.01 installed on my TM P226 and really love it. the grouping's are really tight. As stated though use of quality BB's is a must!, I have been using BBastards with no issues. My only concern with this barrel will be during outdoor use, especially with the possibility of dirt getting in the barrel.

There is no difference between the 6.01 and its wider cousins when it comes to dirt in the barrel, since we're talking about 0.0n milimetre...

According to some people over at Arnies, replacing the stock hopup sleeve with an aftermarket one yields some improvement. I'd personally also replace the piston lid with a more conventional O-ring piston head.

Finally, remember to switch to heavier BBs. Even if you don't reach that 350, switching to heavier BBs will improve accuracy.

On a hot summer day, he will be clocking to an estimated 360+ fps (.20g, propane) with the upgrades you mentioned: 150% hammer/recoil spring, high flow valve, 6.01mm tightbore.
