The New State of the Union
Might a take a minute to voice something interesting I have noticed?
BMW and KIA/Hyundai are on the rise rise. Honda/Toyota are losing market share. Wait...WHAT? 2007 saw the rise of Chinasoft and PTWs while TM is getting less and less talk here in Canada. The rich found something more expensive to buy - the poor something cheaper to buy. CA has risen too, giving us TM quality on the outside and acceptable internals. TM has been forced to pump out new guns at a higher than normal rate. GBBs, AEGs, AEPs are being cloned just about as fast as they are being brought to market. I welcome 2008 with the hope of better clones and some competition in Canadian airsoft retail (RIP A&A/Armoury). -Cheese |

Except SystemA PTW's are still Japanese. You mention Honda and Toyota so I assume you are talking about Japanese manufacturers in general? CA doesn't give TM quality anything. They have all metal exteriors (better than TM IMO) and mediocre internals. Its not totally comparable directly though. Also TM isn't pumping out guns faster than before as far as I can tell. In the GBB market they have released two or three guns since I started which is more than a three year time period. In that time they have produced one AEG, the Type89, prior to that they released the M14 which was more than three years ago (it was out when I started airsoft.) Yes chinasoft is getting more and more attention in Canada but thats because their quality is going up and up. Chinasoft a year ago was garbage, plastic mechboxes, plastic gears, and they broke if you looked at them wrong. Now they are figuring out that to get sales in the real airsoft market they need to be compatible with common aftermarket parts and actually work out of the box.

Concerning the cars? It was just about market share/quality not actual country of origin.
As per TM - maybe they arn't speeding up new model production - it just seems like very time I turn around their new product has hit the market (ex: SMG AEPs). -Cheese EDIT: And when I say CA has TM quality on the outside I mean CA's bodies are like TM's internals. I am not comparing plastic bodies to metal/wood ones. Last edited by Cheesevillage; February 13th, 2008 at 12:58.. |
