well this isnt really an upgade.. but its a mod... with some of the lower end guns (price wise) there are really ugly orange tips... so whats the solution... PAINT IT! well i have painted some of my guns... i like to use krylon camo paint cuz its really really flat.. but it dosnt seem to stick to the plastic that the orange tips are made of... does anyone have some suggestions as to how i could get rid of the orange tip... shot of cutting the end of my barrel off<----- not doing this!

Sand down the orange part, and then paint it. It will stick on if sanded.

If it a plastic hinder then you can rough up the surface with say 400-600 grit sandpaper. You could use a lower grit but the chances of seeing line ridges will increase after painting, especially if you sanded well with low grit.

It is best if you remove the paint rather than applying paint ontop, or you will end up with orange scrapes. I used paint stripper.

Not good if it's plastic though... that stuff can eat through plastic parts.

Just use sandpaper as Syn described. It takes half an hour at the absolute most and that's with painting.

krylon's fine for what you're doing.

There's better stuff, but the prices are astronomical if you're just painting "cheapies". If you get a high end airsoft gun and want "real gun paint" there's some better options, but right now, that's just a waste of money.

I'd be using krylon on more things if they had a foliage green paint

If the sanding + krylon doesn't work, try using tesco model paint. It's specially formulated to stick to plastic, so you can go with that, plus it comes in camouflage colours. Any hoby shop should have it.

you could use a clear coat of matt or shiny clear if you want to protect it further, but i kind of like the minor front scratches on my hinder because it makes it look "battle worn" lol.
