G36C Stock, Questions

I have recently purchased a G36C from Tokyo Marui and have some questions regarding upgrades/body kits:

Imagining I have a reasonable amount of money, what are some crucial upgrades I should install onto my G36C?

Is buying the G36K kit a crucial investment?

I currently possess a AIM POINT Replica Red Dot. I have it installed on my G36C. Is this a viable upgrade? or can I do so without it? or is it based on personal preference?

I noticed that the G36C can only install a 8.6v 600mA battery (according to the "007 Airsoft" website). Is it possible to install a higher voltage battery? if so, is there a point to this?

Thanks for reading my post, looking forward to reading some responses. I should mention that I am a "newbie" to airsoft rifles. However, I am a quick learner, sorry if my questions are "N00bish".

You would need to install a higher voltage battery if you put in upgrades like a spring that shoots 400+ FPS. However, you can get 8.4v mini batteries that have a higher mAh rating, which means longevity, or how many shots it can take before recharging.

Putting an aim point on your G36 is accessorizing, not upgrading.

There is no point in putting on a K kit unless you feel you want the look of a K. You get some minor potential for performance improvement with a K kit, but not worth buying the kit just for that.

007's info is out of date. The 600mAh refers to back when 600mAh NiCd cells were the best cells mini-type batteries could be built from. Fortunately, that's no longer the case. What you want to be looking at are 8.4v mini batteries built from NiMH rated 1200mAh or better. Pick up two and you're basically set, even if you're a hoser (haha, I funny). There is no point in going with a 9.6v battery unless you significantly upgrade your gun. A 8.4v mini 1400mAh will pull up to MS110-equivilent springs just fine.

If you're really worried about using mini batteries, there are two work-arounds I'd recommend. One is the G&P KV stock. It replaces your existing rear stock with one that has a length adjustment feature and the ability to house a large battery. It can be folded like a normal G36 stock, but you need a specially arranged battery in order to do that.

Alternative, there is a special handguard by Classic Army and First Factory (??) that replace your stock handguard. It also fits a large battery.

The only upgrades a stock TM G36C needs are inside the gun, and they are optional upgrades, not essential ones. If you're really new to the sport and only have had the time for a little while, it's recommended that you play half a dozen games or so to get a feel of what sort of performance improvement you'd want. As opposed to diving blindly into an upgrade job.

Firstly, why not get the full length g36 handguard?

My recommendations for additional upgrades:
1) Intellect 9.6v 1400Mah (fits under both types of handguards, the full g36 handguard requires some "finessing" to get it in)
2) Systema Magnum torque up motor (expensive, but bad-ass)
3) Prometheus/Systema helical torque-up gears
4) Type 0 cylinder if you're considering going with a full g36
5) Upgraded piston head (I prefer metal, but I think these are a bit slower than polycarbonate heads)
6) Upgraded cylinder head (Again, I prefer metal, but the real quality that matters is a double O-ring)
7) 110 Spring
8) King Arms Sector gear clip (these are godly on g36s, never had a single misfire after using one of these)
9) Metal Spring guide
10) Prometheus hard hop-up rubber (if you want it to shoot over 350fps)

This set up is fairly ideal for an outdoor gun shooting at ~400 FPS, just keep the stock spring if you want a lower FPS gun. Also with the 9.6v it gets a really good ROF with consistent torque on each shot

Great gun choice. Have fun with your upgrading. You can increase FPS by doing a lot of other things than just upgrading to a stiffer spring, although the latter will do it quickly and dramatically.
Metal bushings and shims are your friends...use them in any upgrade especially when planning on increasing FPS.
Yes, you can stuff a 9.6 mini in with a little finesse. I am happy with the Intellect 8.4 1400 mah battery.
Have a look at my signature...I went a little crazy with the upgrades, but they are dynamite in action.
