importing a gun

hey so i'm very new to airsoft and up until now have just messed around with cheapo CT clear guns with my friends. We're all looking to get guns that are a little more powerful, but definitely don't want to spend a thousand dollars on a gun.

according to what little research i have done, you need a firearms lisence to import any airsoft gun... and so my question is, is it worth the trouble to buy a firearms lisence [only 60 or 80 dollars every 5 years], ship to an address in the states and drive down to bring it over the border? or will declaring an gun have too many hidden charges and BS to make it worth my while?

edit: i am 23 years old, but am not (yet) age-verified

You can't import airsoft guns with just a firearms licence, you can only import airsoft guns with a specialized Business Firearms Licence. You cannot get those outside of the film and theatre industries, and they are also quite pricey.

Your best bet is to get age verified and stick with buying from inside Canada.

The license you need is a gun seller license. It has nothing to do with a possession licence.

Go check the canadian retailler when you are age verifed, they have fairly good price.

Firearms license won't help you, that's not what you need.

Do not smuggle replicas across the border.

EDIT: damn you both.

With the recent flood of China brand guns, it doesn't cost $1000 to start in this game anymore. (Maybe $800)

It takes a lot less to "start" then $800.

Im not age verified, and I understand that takes time to do, what you can do is go to some of the websites like 007airsoft, and buyairsoft.ca (there are a few more) they have new guns for sale and depending on the model you really dont have to pay a 1000, though, with that being said, they are pricey compared to those in the states and elsewhere.

those websites or age verification are pretty well your options.
