Tappet Plate Snap
So I was opening up my new baby the P90 TR and I opened the gearbox just like any other gearbox after decompressing the spring and then Bwaahh!!
The Flag looking part of the tappet plate snapped! Problem 1: So I got in a V6 Deep Fire Tappet plate but it does seem to fit flush with the air nozzle, it still fits and moves but the problem is I still see some spacing between the air nozzle and where is sits on the tappet plate. Will it still fire normally without wrecking the tappet plate even though its not sitting complete flush Problem 2: So my original Tappet plate on the flag end snapped off, but I was wondering do I need the flag part? Can I still fire the gun without it? |

The flag part is what the gears engage, so no you can't use the gun without it. Very important part.
What do you mean space? Can you take a picture? |

For the lack of a good camera, cannot seem to figure out this stupid Sony DSLR to take close up pictures so I have resorted to Paint
So picture this you are looking straight on in front of your gear box On the left is the Original Marui Parts, fit flush no problem On the right is the Deep fire tappet with the Marui Nozzle there is like a finger nail of space between the nozzle and the seating Was wondering if it will affect future performance, the gun shoots fine. I can tell the jump in power and speed after putting in the S90 Spring as for Metal bushings its hard to push them in so I am going to wait until the plastic bushings bust As I heard the plastic bushings should withstand the S90 spring As for other parts - Metal Spring Guide - Metal Cylinder nozzle - Modify Piston and Piston head (Polycarbonate) - V6 Deep fire Tappet plate - 455 mm barrel Madbull - 400-500mm Modify Cylinder Type 0 ported And rest stock parts Last edited by cbcsteve; October 9th, 2008 at 03:23.. |

As for the nozzle, well if it's a very small space and it still fires fine, then I'd say leave it. As long as it doesn't seem like it would slip off the nozzle. |

Thanks a bunch
Yeah I heard that most people who put a Spring higher than 90 with stock parts will basically blow up the plastic parts that is. |

With a weak spring, you're good with the plastic bushings. However, if you have the mechbox open to do stuff in there, I would recommend that since bushings are so cheap, it would be worthwhile installing them anyway as preventative maintenance. As Styrak stated, when bushings fail, they can potentially take out other parts of the mechbox, primarily the gears.

You bought a Deep Fire tappet plate, that is the main problem. Buy a Modify tappet, should work better and won't cost much.

Thanks for all the help
Deep Fire Problem: Yeah I usually stay with Modify as they have proven themselves to me but my local store did not stock them Bushings: I do have the guarder bushings but it is very hard to press them in only one fit in so far, I am use to the V2-V3 gearboxes where I just plop them in no problem. Perhaps a Modify may be better? |

Bushings are sometimes a tight fit depending on the brand, and the brand of your mechbox shell. You may need to tap them in.
