Don't use grease on pistols. Use 100% silicone oil or spray.

And for an adapter, www.airsoftparts.ca

Just remember to use anything that doesn't have a petrol smell or a smell at all for that matter. That means its likely got additives that would wear out plastic parts over time.

Any odorless grease/oil is safe on plastic/metal.

1. Maybe you should ask about products BEFORE ordering them.

2. That adapter is fine, although if you had gotten the AI adapter instead, the silicone oil and a duster adapter would have been included. And AI is Canadian too, rather than Asian.

3. You don't put the oil in the mag. Put a few drops of oil in the nozzle of the propane bottle before installing the adapter. Do this every 8-10 times you load the magazine.

4. FYI, it's not a clip, it's a magazine...

You don't put any into the mag itself, you drop two drops into the mouth of the tank then screw your adapter on. All of the instructions are included with your adapter.
The normal green cans of propane from CT will do.

EDIT - Too slow

I'm leary of pointing this out to you...
- there's some well know problems with some of those green coleman propane tanks. Do a search here and google "Colin Sun's blog" he has (or at least had) a good write up on what to do to fix it. It's simple...but it does require fiddling with the top seal of the bottle. Be careful. There are Blue welders bottles that I don't think have the same issues...be sure to get the right gas.

Q. Crunch...why not use non-petroleum grease on the frame/slide rails? I use a very sparing amount of white lithium on my pistols...doesn't seem to mess anything up. I've also lightly greased some of the axles in the hammer assembly. Nowhere else though (i.e. chamber block/blow back unit).

I've used graphite power as well...messy. I've also tried Molybendum Dissulphide (Moly), which is a dry lubricant used in firearms. It's messy as well (i.e. black smudges on stuff). Both work well though.

For regular oil usage...I usually shoot my mags until they're empty. Then when I use them next I put a drop of oil on the main valve button and depress it a couple of times. I hold the main valve down and drop 1-2 drops down into the mag from the top seal (usually getting some on the seal at the same time). I also put a drop into the fill valve just before I fill it.

I'll only do all that once at the beginning of each shooting session...it's probably too much but I haven't had any leaky mags so far and all my pistols run well (with the mild exception of my 226...but that's a project gun in progress). I tend to shoot my pistols often...so I'm not really worried about leaving them "empty" for 3-4 days at a stretch.

I always wondered about putting a couple of drops onto the top of the cylinder before placing on the adaptor. Surely the oil doesn't run into the bottle when the adaptor is in place or is in use? If it's blow out with the liquid propane...wouldn't the first mag receive "all" of the oil and the last ones "none"...thus not lubricating any of the o-rings in the mag?

I run 5 mags for CAPS (IPSC)...and I want all my mags to be a functionally similar and reliable as possible. I suppose that if I weren't really anal about which mags I used 1st/2nd/3rd/etc...they would probably end up randomly 1st eventually.

This is true, the oil doesn't go into the mag, and it's meant more for single mags. I don't oil my mags much, but sometimes if I do, I'll put a drop or two of oil in the bottle opening, put the adaptor on, spurt some gas into the mag, take the adaptor off, more oil, spurt into the next mag, and so on.
