Upgrading mp5k pdw barrel/cyl head/piston head
I'm gonna do some upgrade work on my mp5k pdw over the next little while.
1) standard barrel right now (141mm), putting in 265mm 6.03 tightbore to extend into a suppressor. so far: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...oducts_id=1031 can i cut a 300 down without running into trouble? and do i need a larger cylinder as well to even it out? 2) cylinder head: is a silent one practical? so far: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=774 3) piston head: aluminum or poly, to bearing or not to bearing? so far: http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=780 |

You could cut down a 300mm but ensure there is no deformation in the end, and crown the barrel with a file so that the BB breaks away freely. You're better off buying the proper length barrel.
You will need a cylinder with a hole halfway down the shaft so that there is a proper amount of pressure on the bb giving it the best fps. A silent cylinder head is practical but only with a proper piston head, get them as a kit like the Systema Silent set. Otherwise: Modify is great, go for a polycarbonate piston head with a bearing. This is all my personal opinion, but I've built a similar system and it is great. |
