XM177/CAR15 Feeding Issues.

Gun: G&P XM177E1 (Custom Built)
Upgrades: (From ASC Listing)
Base gun:TM M733, G&P Metal Body, G&P Metal Front set, G&P XM Stock, G&P A1 Pistol grip
Internals: Guarder SP100 spring, systema spring guide, piston, piston head, metal bushings, Guarder metal hop-up, 6.04mm tightbore.
Fps: ~340 on .2g BB's.

BB Brand/weight used:
BB Bastard .20's

Mags Used: Metal Dboys 68rnds, Plastic STAR 20rnds (Vietnam styled), Metal TM 80(?)rnds (Vietnam style mags).

Issue:
All tested Magazines do not feed properly in this gun, yet all work fine in my ICS M4A1. I have to push them upward into the receiver for them to feed.

Any Suggestions to have the mags work without being pushed on? If more information is required Ill track down what I can.
I will have this gun with me for display at the In Country team table at Tac09 should any gundocs be present.

Try some tape on the bottom of the mechbox in the magwell. And a strip or two of tape on the top of the mags. worked for me.

I don't think that would help much. That would push them farther away, or keep them there. Sounds like he needs to file down the BB retainers as the hopup isn't pushing them out of the way far enough.

I was just going by what he siad, he had to push up on the mags for them to feed. putting tape on the mechbox makes the mag tilt forward into the hopup unit better. thats what I found anyways with my M4 when I had the same thing happen that I had to push up on the mag in order for it to feed. but it takes a bit to get it just right.

Ooooooh. That might work depending on how much play there is. But the filing is another option.

Yes. but the mags he is useing should not need filing and could easly reck them. witch the tape you can take back.

Read his post. ALL the mags he has works in his ICS, but doesn't work in his other rifle. screwing with the mags might make it work for the XM177, but might screw it up for his ICS.
