It's a very hard smell to get rid off.
If it was not rubber, it would be easyer to wash. Maybe soaking it in hot close to boiling water with soap coud help. I tried alchool, several perfums, soap, heavy duty industrial cleaners, febreese, several days outside in the open, ordinary soap.... Nover got rid of it completely. It was not even wearable. But at least, it did not stickup my room like it used to do.
