MP5 SD6 Upgrade?

I recently bought a ICS sd6(used) and the guy before me put an m120 spring in it with no other upgrades. The swithc assembly broke right away after i got it. not sure why. But im wondering what i should do to upgrade it. I have ordered a new switch assembly, deep fire full titaniam piston, modify steel bushings, and a system silent piston head. I and wondering if my stock gears will hold up to the M120 spring? I use a 9.6v battery with an ICS 2000 motor

the stock gears will be fine and so will the 2000. Down the road you might want the new T3000 since it has a lot better performance. The 1st upgrade that should be done is a buying a tightbore

I am thinking about purchasing an ICS MP5 SD6 elite from Airsplat ( that's the only site with an elite SD6 version). The guns internals are supposedly all reinforced. However I would like better FPS ( somewhere in the 400's), and I don't feel comfortable changing the spring myself. 1) where could I get an upgrade. 2) If I had to change the spring myself what type of spring should I get and how would I put it in the gun.

400 FPS for an MP5? Are you serious?

Go for a solid 360 FPS with .2's. Then use BBBastard .28's, the combination performs very well.

I did a little research and found a website that will put in a m120 spring, aluminum piston head, and shims (whatever that is) for $68 dollars. Is that a reasonable price. They said it would increase the FPS from 330-3360 to 3370-400. Is the FPS also reasonable. ( someone already said that 400 FPS was pushing it so I just wanted to make sure the upgrade was for real)

If you have never worked with upgrades yourself, I'd highly advise you get someone to do it for you. Since your in the States, we can't really help you to much. If by you mean 68$ just for the work, not including the parts, that sounds pretty reasonable.

400 isn't pushing it for capabilities, it's pushing it for game limits. FPS that high isn't necessary. 400 is a limit, not a goal.

And seriously, if you really have no idea about this stuff, you probably shouldn't be upgrading your AEG at all. You'd be much better off with a tightbore and reshimming than you will will higher FPS.

A little saying we have is "Don't upgrade your gun until you know what it needs." Ie, if you have to ask what to upgrade, you shouldn't be upgrading.
