G36 Hop-up Problem
Hi everyone,
I bought a TM G36C just before Christmas and I had a problem with the hop up. I eventually got it fixed, but I didn't shoot the gun very much. Last weekend, I decided to go outside and try it out. I noticed that even when the hop up was completely off, the BB's would still curve upwards. I am not sure if the new hop up was not properly installed, or if it just needs to be broken in. I have shot over 2000 rounds through it since it was fixed so hopefully someone can give me some advice. Thanks |

Get a new hop-up rubber, they are pretty cheap. The one you have might be too stiff. You can also make sure the hop up wheel is installed properly and the nub that pushes into the rubber is not stuck.

The G36 hop wheel has two tracks that the 'nub pusher' can ride in. It should be in the outer one, and I would expect jamming to occur if it's in the inner one.
What weight of BBs are you using?

I'm using .2's, but I don't know if .25's will be too heavy for a stock TM gun. Also, I did not install the hop up myself so I am not sure if it was installed properly.

0.25g BB's aren't too heavy for a TM, especially a G36C. You'll lose about 20 feet of range, though within range, you'll shoot much straighter.

Do you think that the weight of the BB's could be the only problem, or is there still something wrong with the hop up?

I had a similar problem with my g36 after I put in a new hopup rubber.... turns out I didn't see the "meant for sp130-sp150" on the package, and only having a stock spring, it's not able to push the bb past the rubber very well.
So with the hopup completely off, bbs would still curve upwards. Definitely check which track the "pusher" is in, but also look for a softer hopup rubber, stock if you can get it. Also using .25s, and they shoot great... have to compensate for that ultra short barrel somehow...
