Can you still have a good airseal and be able to push the nozzle back into your assembled mechbox?
the piston pushing is better for testing the piston's/cylinder heads compression. The assembled mech box test is better for testing the nozzles compression.

Well when I do the piston push, there is a slow air leak around the nozzle...like so slow I wasn't sure if it would matter. But when I do the nozzle push, I can push it all the way back...fairly easily. I tried soaking the nozzle's o-ring in silicone oil but didn't help much.

Try the out of box method without the nozzel. If that is a perfect seal then your nozzle is leaking. THOUGH it may be only a little and only drop your gun 10-20 fps.

Yeah, without the nozzle I get a good seal. Could it be that the grease I'm using is too thin? It's the G&P cylinder grease...a liquid.

The nozzle and cylinder head are both modify...and have only seen maybe 2000 rounds. Tried expanding the o-ring in silicone oil but no luck.

Well Like I said, it MAY only be a small power drop. Beyond that All I can say is either get a new nozzle or play with different orings. (I'm much more handy hands on)
