Partial success!! So I created a slip out of .5mm spring steel that ran from the hole for the leaf spring up to the bottom of the hammer sear. It was as wide as the leaf spring and had a notch cut out of the top left corner to allow the grip safety to work. The gun is now firing auto!!

I also ran into a few problems.

1) The hammer get stuck on the underside of the slide. I realize all I have to do is get some bushings to put on the spring guide to short stroke it.

2) Sometimes the hammer fails to fall during the middle of a burst. I dont know if this is a function of me using duster gas or my springs are getting weak. Its a stock hicapa ive had forever, but I don't think I've put THAT many rounds through it. It's definately falling down past the half cock latch.

3) Something is sometimes binding the trigger. I pull on the trigger and it feels like the saftey is on. Then I let up slightly, something clicks and I can pull for auto fire again. This only seems to happen when I actually have a mag in the gun and I'm getting ready to fire a burst. I can't replicate it with it taken partially apart.

4) In the video, it looks like the switch to select the fire mode goes straight through the leaf spring... at least through the grip saftey part. Not quite sure what im going to try doing.

Anyway, just thought I'd give you guys an update. Feel free to chime in if you have an idea for a workaround. Thanks in advance.
