G&G M4 CQB vs G&G M4A1

Hi there everyone, I'm just getting into the sport, and looking for my first true AEG.

I'm looking for a good all-around gun that I can use both indoors and outdoors, and I found two that I really like.

The first is the G&G M4 CQB.
http://www.wastelandwilly.com/gg-m4cqb.php
Pros - High ROF, 340 FPS makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor, upper receiver rails and barrel rails for attachments, adjustable stock.
Cons - I'm not sure about this, but it seems like a 10" barrel may limit accuracy at longer ranges, no rear iron sights if I decide to go scopeless

The other is the G&G M4A1
http://www.wastelandwilly.com/gg-m4a1-bb.php
Pros - High ROF (same as CQB), 14" Barrel should make it accurate at all distances, front and rear iron sights, adjustable stock.
Cons - No front rails for attachments, long overall length may make it inconvenient for indoor skirmishes.

My question is this.
Has anyone used either/both of these and can they answer a few question on them?

If I buy the CQB, can I swap out the 10" barrel for a longer one? And if I do, will it look retarded?

If I buy the M4A1, is there a way to remove the front hand section and put on rails?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I have the M4 (the non cqb one) it's the non blowback version however, and it works great! *knock on wood* I have also handled the CQB version and givin the choice I would go with that one. The main reason is that the CQB comes with a crane stock (no unslightly battery options), a rail system, and considering its an armalite, your going to be spending mad money on it, so that saves you the trouble of buying a rail system anyways.

But it's your hard earned money, just pick what tickles you in that special airsoft spot.
Its an M4 so no matter what you do, you can always change it up!

I bought the exact CQB-R from willy last week. And let me say..

I am impressed!

I just got back from my first cqb game now. It's a very good AEG. I chrono'd it around 348. So it's very good for outdoors and indoors, like you said. The thing I like most about it, is that it's light as hell.

Personally, I didnt like the rear sights, not good with googles. I replaced it with a red dot and it works great. The high cap mag that came with it, isnt very good, but, I bought some STAR mid-cap mags and they work great. I heard the mag release isn't very good on the G&G but I've had 0 issues with it.

The price on the gun is very, very good. I did a lot of comparing, and for the gun, it's very worth the money. It came with a really good battery, lasted me the whole game while going through countless mags, 1500+ bb's (estimating). Cleaning rod which I was supprised. Willy actually sends you pictures of the actual product before he ships it to make you feel 100% comfortable. He goes out of his way to make sure you are happy with your product. Great retailer.

The smoke clear receiver, imo, is very nice. It won't shine in the sun and give your position away, and it's not ugly either.

I have yet to play outside with it yet, however, I have played with an mp5, which has a shorter barrel. Thus, this will be an improvement. You could always get a longer inner and outter barrels for outdoor games. You could always get a silencer instead and just put the inner barrel as it sticks out the outter barrel, the silencer will hide it. It won't look stupid, might look good. I picked up a silencer for the cause.

Overall, VERY good gun and very reliable (tonight's game had sand). I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS AEG. Very impressed. A +++
