So, you tell me which is a better option, $2200 BNIB PTW that is fragile and has issues with humidity or the $800 or Less RS that can take one hell of a beating?

To each their own, but I don't think being able to swap springs in seconds isn't worth $1500 extra plus the incompatibility with regular AEG accessories.

Owned.

I'm totally not knocking PTW's here -- but it's very possible to "PTW" trigger response an distance on an AEG.

YouTube - ASCU-Crisp-Trigger.mpg

If an AEG is built right, it wont chew up pistons or anything... Same with a PTW. If you get a tech that doesn't really know what he's doing and builds an AEG wrong, it'll break. If you get a tech that doesn't really know what he's doing and builds a PTW wrong, it'll break.

Anyone have an estimated date (not year) on these things?

Not going to trash talk RS or PTW, but I'm really curious as to how well the new M4 hold up against the PTW. I've seen their AK's range and accuracy and am pretty impressed so far.

It said late 2011 in the video, so hopefully October or November 2011, in Canada probably Jan or Feb 2012

Watched your video she drove over the ak on snow... big deal snow disperses the weight as it's softer than say pavement. That and the ak is basically a one piece design unlike an m4 you notice thats why she always buries it with the bolt facing the ground as it's the only opening into it. WOW it blows my mind... You do realize PTW's can get wet right? and any aeg in a torrential down pour will auto fire with or without a mosfet.

RS makes nice guns but they are joining a market with G&P, TM,VFC, ICS, KWA seems kinda counter productive...

I'm sorry but running over an airsoft gun with a truck is running it over with a truck. I'm not saying that people should go run over their guns with trucks but Real Swords have amazing durability. Which means you can pretty well do anything to them in regular gaming without having to worry about them being able to last. And there was another thread I found where someone said that the guy at the real sword booth was throwing the ARs on the cement floor at shot show without a mark on the gun. Basically Real Swords are going to make everything else in the AEG market a joke.

An AEG with no mosfet will never fire by itself in the rain.

Please feel free to provide evidence otherwise.

Agreed, I've seen AEGs fully submerged, and fired.

The reasons that RS is so Unique are many, it rough like a tank, I dropped my type 97 from 2nd floor and picked it up and fired it without any issue, I doubt you can do the same with your PTW, if not please prove it. RS build their guns with real steel material and I am sure PTW can't do that unless you upgrade it by yourself. It's not fragile, not fancy, but something really built for using in the field. I am not saying PTW is not as good as RS, you can always pick up a PTW if you got extra money and wanted to show off in front of your friends; but for most our airsofters we need something not so expensive and with decent quality, That been said, RS FTW.

Also, RS is not counter product of G&P, TM, VFC, ICS, KWA. It's way superior.
