I would recommend a KJW long before a WE and a TM over a KJW.
At the prices you've quoted I'd get the TM over the WE, IMO it's a no brainer. A WE should only cost you around $200, A KJW $250 and a TM $300+. The plastic slides on TMs are much more robust than people usually give them credit for. While not designed to run on propane they will hold up quite well to it's usage. A plastic slide will also cycle faster and consume less gas than a metal one. The slide MAY crack on you but it's only a $10 part. Last edited by Kozzie; December 18th, 2011 at 23:43.. |

the fact is twofold: reliability = king full metal ≠ reliability Get a TM or a KSC/KWA (they are the same thing) and upgrade them to full metal along with some other nice internal upgrades like a TB inner barrel etc. You don't have to, but if you want full metal, the options are there. If you want a quality performance pistol, that's what you're going to have to do. On the other hand, if you have the coin and want the best, get age verified and check out some of the custom retailers here. They can build you a custom pistol that is second to none. lastly, you posting all these links makes me worry that you plan on trying too order this by yourself from the oversea's manufacturer. Simply put, DO NOT do this. Other here can elaborate should you wonder why. |

I don't know, a full metal KJW is a beast. I have a pair of KJW M9s and they have NEVER failed me.

Stick with TM, and leave it plastic. That's hands down the best reliability you can find for a pistol. If your dead set on a full metal pistol, then buy one that comes full metal. Upgrading to full metal is ver costly. The internals won't come able to handle the extra weight of the metal slide. I myself run strictly TM and have had no issue. A friend recently bought a brand new WE full metal 1911, and it had problems off the get go. Another of my buddies got a WE Dragon brand new, and it lasted only a couple of games. We've had a few KWA's now and they have behaved well. Western Arms also produces some solid pistols. Read reviews to get all the info required as some companies make the best of certain guns. For example: TM has the best Sig P227, and Western Arms makes the best 1911, ect. KJW on the other hand are hit and miss. I've only seen one last more than a season. I'd steer clear of them, in my opinion.
This is a friendly reminder to get AV'ed.

I dunno, ive got a tm 4.3 desert warrior and yeah its great, but ive also had a kjw g23 and it functioned brilliantly, i sold it to a teammate and he uses it as his secondary with no problem, other than one of the mags leaking very briefly
there are a lot of positive reviews out there of kjw pistols

I'm sure it's been mentioned... but it really seems that you need to pick WHICH pistol you want... then pick the best manufact as each pistol make seems to have a king brand
(please keep in mind that what I am posting below is a mixture of opinion and general research) IE: hi capa - TM 1911 - TM bone stock, WA full metal glock - G17 TM, G19 KWA/KSC, G18 .. TM and KSC seem to be tied M9 - KJW seems to be king at the moment Desert eagle - TM TM TM TM TM TM TM TM... did I say TM? ... buy what you want in a pistol BONE STOCK ... seriously ... if you want a full metal pistol.. buy one stock full metal. the last bit is .. decide what you want out of a pistol... if you just want a full metal pretty shiney pistol to leave in your holster and look the part, and don't ever intend to pull and use it ... get a WE ... personally for me, what ever sits on my hip, I have to know that at any point I can pull it and stay in the fight no ifs or buts ... I carry 1 or 2 TM desert eagles... and I can stay toe to toe with 95% of the weapons I come across on the field, for distance and accuracy, ROF I fall a bit short, but that's why I sometimes carry 2, but that's generally only if I go into the field pistols only pistol choice is just a varied as rifle choice... decide what you want, what you want it for, and then look at what your options are.

Are the postive comments about TM pistols true among there entire line..
so are the glock 17-18's also of excellent build quality \ reliability ? |

Absolutely. TM has the best Glock series arguably. If you want an M9 try KWA. KJW M9's have been fairly solid, but they have mag issues. And they don't stack up to the other brands for performance.
