I think alot of these guys that are telling not to get the MP7 is because they KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. I own one, my forth gun. I have to say this is the best gun I have owned. IT IS FULLY UPGRADABLE. Just look on the WWW But it has a small baby battery, you say, well either buy an upgrade battery plug or pull the top rail off and wire up a mini plug bolt it back together. Or use the awesome little battery that comes with it. I have shot 900+ rounds out of my MP7 before the battery goes. Th gun come with rails so you can add all the bling you want with a silencer it is deadly quiet, and you can get barrel upgrades, that will give you more length then a MP5. (I know you have to buy a new barrel, get a new job if you can't afford it) Straight up the MP7 is a crazy bullet hose, ask anyone that has seen it at our JOC nights. At first people were like ya it's cool but it's slow and so small and all that crap. Now dudes are commonly saying "i'm getting one of those and leaving my M4 for outdoors. Let the haters be just that, most of them are regurgitating info that they didn't come up with and have only seen the MP7 in pics. Flame away haters flame away |

The MP7 is certainly upgradable, but for $500 we ought to have gotten something you shouldn't need to upgrade right away. TM promised some 300 fps stock which turned out to be woefully inaccurate. After having played with one and noticed TM still hasn't figured out that moly coating and parkerizing looks FAR better than their shitty gloss black spray paint, I got a CA MP5 instead.

I think thats the clincher about the MP7. It sorta got advertised as an AEG, for the most part. Even HK retailers have it under AEGs rather than AEPs, and it has the pricetag to match.
But lets be honest, it's an AEP. It's bigger, and performs better than other AEPs, but it isn't an AEG. Getting an MP7 with the intention of using it as an AEG will probably leave you feeling cheated. If it's your first and only AEG, you'll probably be disappointed. But on the other hand, if you get the MP7 for it's intended purpose -- basically as a sidearm / uberpistol -- it rocks. Okay, the pricetag still blows. But the 250 FPS performance is on par with a stock japanese GBB, and with electric power it'll never be too cold to field, and it'll never suffer cooldown effects even if you empty the entire magazine in FA. It seems like it would make a nice alternative to a Glock 18C/23F, or other compact gas SMGs, probably being less troublesome than gas guns (I love my gas guns, but I know a lot of people get annoyed with their idiosyncrasies). For a sniper, for example, it'd probably make a great alternative to "just a pistol" and wouldn't be very cumbersome to carry. I wanna get one. I'm just hoping the prices get less stupid.

I would reccommend the TM MP7. You can even get holsters for them and use it as a sidearm. I was down at Dave's today and they said they were gettin some in.

If it's a new guy's first gun and the person in question doesn't know where he/she will be playing (ie: woodland, CQB, the bronx ect...) and if price is an issue then the MP7 begins to look bad compared to a good used AEG.
There's plenty of deals to be had. Examples? 1)There's an aug for $350 with two mags, an RDS, a battery and a silencer on our local forums. 2)My friend just recently bought a G36C with an upgraded rail and open sights plus at battery, 2 lows, and a sniper mag for $530. I'm not bashing the MP7 - I'm saying for a noob on a budget who wants to get skirmishing quickly and without further ado maybe the MP7 isn't the BEST solution. As previously stated: If it's bought for it's intended purpose (CQB & sidearm) then the MP7 is an awesome buy. -Cheese

Get an MP5, its more useable than an MP7, and won't break any rules like the KWC. However I get to skirmish my Mini uzi...suckers.

The MP7 is a little over board as a sidearm/secondary in my opinion, I will be using it as a secondary though when I am playin in a sniper role. I use my MP7 mainly as my indoor primary. Many people scoffed when I first purchased it, stating the same lame objections, now MP7s are popping everywhere. |

Sweet! I was going to pack my Uzi as a sidearm while sniping this weekend. Of course I'll still have to pack my hicapa, you can never have enough firepower when they start hunting the sniper...

Yeah, totally true, and when I get my S&W M500, I may pack that with me too.
