Hahaha, that's gold!
Nothing better than a quick n' dirty photoshop pic!

I'll be interested to see what the TTC special constables have to say.
I think that it should be okay, after all if I can walk down the street with my gun case then I should be able to catch the TTC.
A letter from them stating that it's acceptable would be good though, I just want to make sure I can stay out of trouble...

Sorry Amos, but you're method would attract too much curiosity.

I use to carry it in a travel bag on TTC/GO commuter trains. As long as I wasnt wearing camo, I got no attention.

Personally, in a city like Toronto, I would transport my gun in a modded guitar case (locked, of course). That would attract no attention whatsoever. Whether or not your gun case is locked, you can bet the second you step on the bus / subway, you're going to be attracting a lot of attention by what you're carrying. It could also make you a target of any thugs that would be interested in accquiring whatever is in your gun case. I think a guitar case would attract a lot less attention.

From my experience in the Montreal metro system, anything that meets the required specs (ie, that locks) and that does not look like a gun case has served me well. I've used piano and speaker cases to good effect, along with a Phantom gear bag more recently.

Pack ammo and battery in a seperate back.

Replicas are not firearms and as such do not need to be transported as such.

I would like to weigh in here, you can choose to accept my advice or not but please no flaming.

I've seen people wearing paintball gear on the bus, pod's (to carry paint in), bdu's, vest, and backpack.

If you look like a paint baller it might attract less attention (oh look it's another paintballer going out to the field) than the other option (OMFG itz n Aussie terrorist 1n c4mo with 4 gun, h3's g01ng to k1ll u5 41l !!!111!1oneone!11!!!).

SO just get a getup that looks like you're a paintballer then put your AS stuff in a bag (drop leg, webbing w/e) and your gun in a rifle case (that gun case is carrying a paintball gun).

+1, is a thin line but I'd feel less threatening by using a guitar or keyboard case. Thing being, if you are found with a gun case, locked or not on the transpo, some soccermom might freak out and call the cops. You'd look ok in the eyes of the cops for having a locked gun case, but shit has occured. But carrying it in a guitar case, you'd look like anyone else and cause no reason for anyone to call the cops. Just dont' dress in full BDUs abd you are ok, camo pants and black T-shirt would make you look like any other musical freak out there. I used to go do regular archery after work 10 years ago, and I'd always carry my compound bow in a duffle bag with a piece of fabric covering the top of the limb that stuck out. I never got any problems.

Nutshell, look good when the cops arrive because someone called them on you for transporting a gun case, or avoid the problem altogether and carry in something that looks like something else.

Well I think I have found a happy medium, The police said that it was fine as long as it was transported in a proper rifle case and the ammunition was stored separately, the TTC seem to basically be worried about people freaking out...

So: I'll be transporting the gun in a locked rifle case inside a snowboard bag. The bag is big enough to easily take a full-length oversize single rifle case. A snowboard case won't attract any attention and I am still complying with the law.

Ammo and batteries will be stored in whatever other bag I take with me.

I think that should do! No-one freaked out and if the police do get involved somehow there won't be any issues because I'm in compliance with the law.

Any thoughts?

A guitar case with outter locks, thats inside has been modded with a foam insert to hold the AEG. Atleast you wouldnt look like you were transporting any firearm. However I do understand at the sametime the issues that could arise if a person were caught with something like that. Realistically a locked gun case is your best choice, however I am not farmiliar with your local transit laws, so I will not recommend anything.
Or a buncha people would just ask you to play a little song for them
