still not good, but will charge your 1500mA in close to an hour. just stop charging once battery gets warm.

i got a smart/fast charger and it has the option at charging from 1A-4.5 A in .5 increments. i would buy a new one.

okay. So, hypothetically if I was charging an 8.4V Large 4500mah NIMH it would roughly take just over 3 hrs?

Yes, that is all the info I see off this contraption. Thanks everyone for your help into this matter that has been gugging me for a while.

Also, any recommendations on the charger I should invest in that would charge the 4500mah in less time or at the very least the same but will not OC the battery?

I'd recommend this one, but I'm biased cause I have it.
Best charger I've seen, and that's comparing it to the BB Bastard charger, TLP4000, etc
I got it for $80 from a local hobby store.
